My guess is Stars knows something we don't. This makes total sense if they did this for the US players. To acquire them.

Power hath descended forth from Thy hand. Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands.
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be.

Look online poker will be back in the USA it's just a matter of time. Stars wouldn't buy FTP if they knew they could never come back into the USA market. Stars is going to act like a savior but FTP pay every player 100% instead of .2 per 1 dollar. Then stars owns FTP software which had estimated value at a couple hundred million. Stars will own the market competing with party poker. Won't have to worry about ft2 or anyone else. This is absolutely wonderful news for poker and USA players. If you don't see that then wow.

Just sooo smart on pokerstars side. Buy FTP assets (debt) but many for the 200 million dollar software and revamp it and put it only in USA when its time. Pay out every player on ftp roughly 330-350 million and bam.. Pokerstars will own the USA market and compete with 888 poker ect for international.

I wouldn't get excited yet. I'll just wait and see what happens. But it would be nice to see FT back in the US.

I can see a lot of benefits, and the licensing will be less hassle than most think by simply offering a partnership. Any major brand Casino will be well aware of FTP software and would leap at an easy backdoor catchup.
