very nice keep up the good work!! I hope to be there soon
thanks, this was helpful
Nice job so far. Grind is always about concentration, so keep going on ...
good luck. i hope you achieve your goals
Thanks for all the well wishes guys. It means a lot to have people rooting for you to succeed.
Session number 11 is in the books and it looks like I have righted the ship. I played well but also had an insanely great table with a decent run of cards. There were a couple of really novice players who were still trying to figure out how to play and paid off very lightly. In the end, I won $470. It felt good to get back on the right track and recoup some of the last two sessions. I am taking this week off because I have a family wedding so my next update for live play won't be for a week and half. I hope to get some online volume, maybe two sessions, in the meantime. Until then, good luck and see you on the felt.

Luck and being on the felt are always a gamble.
I just finished an online freeroll session and it was pretty decent. i made two final tables and finished third in one of them. I made a few good plays and one really good bluff, I ran insanely good in one of the tourneys, but I am hung up on one hand I played poorly. I had 8 big blinds left at one of my final tables with 6 people left. I was in the big blind and the button raised to 3x. I had 44 and was planning on doing a stop and go but lost my nerve when the flop came a k j. There was a small chance he had 22-qq and my move would have gotten him to fold but I lost my nerve and check folded. Other than that, I liked my play on the night. I was able to increase my roll and am looking to get in another session this week. Moreover, this will be a big volume weekend for my live play as well. I might be putting in four days in a row. Thursday night, we are getting our old game 10-20 lo8 going again. Friday, I am either playing a tourney or cash. Same with Saturday, and Sunday wil either be cash or day 2 of my tourney. The tourney has multiple starting days and a 50k guarantee. So it looks like it is going to be a big volume week and this would be a great time to run good. Good luck to you all and see you on the felt.

Session number 12 is in the books and although it was profitable, I played pretty poorly. It was the first session of 10-20 Omaha eight or better this year and I was looking for a big score but I never got the ball rolling enough to make a big impact. I started out playing well but as the night went on and the game got short I played too passively and too wide. I got into the game a little bit late and by then the looser players had left. I was left with some rocks but also some people who called off too light. In any regard, I just couldn't get it going. I wound up making $113 and was looking to quit. I racked up my chips and walked away. The game was 5 handed and it was late so I figured I had enough. One of the worst players who was on tilt, begged me to play 10 more minutes because he was stuck and didn't want the game to break. I decided that this could be a 10 minute investment for hundreds of dollars in the future. Well, I stayed ten minutes more and gave away some profit. I finally walked away after the ten minutes up $63 for the night. It was a small win but I guess a win is a win. I have to stay focused on playing my A game all night long. I have a tendency to slip and play bad as the night goes on. I might start taking some extended breaks to clear my head and refocus every hour or so. I don't know, I guess it might help. Well, in any case, good luck to all of you and see you on the felt.

Wow, great playing...Hope you wont have falls...and if you have them, hope they would be insignificant ;)
Need some run good today. I made it to day 2 of the Philly poker open event number 1. I am currently in 21st ish. 47 remain and they are paying out 27. First is $13,000. I will update after the tournament.
I don't have any money goals, but I just want to have enough that I don't have to worry about busting my account online. Maybe $50 or something should be enough for me.
Bah. I finished 29th. O well, back to the grind. Good luck and see you the felt.
This is just another way to earn points here. Without these forum posts, there would be nothing. The End.
Here is my February in review:
$1,000 in profit. Failed -$461
36 hours of cash. Failed. 30 hours
4 day winning streak. Failed. 2 days
7 winning days in the month. Failed. 3 days
No more than 2 losing days in a row. Completed. 2 days
Play one live tournament Completed. 1 tournament
Win a freeroll. Failed
If I could sum it up in one word it would be failed lol. My fears were realized this month. I was worried with the shorter month and I was right. It was hard to get the volume in this month. Making matters worse, I was pretty busy with other commitments. I was only able to play 5 cash game sessions. It also didn't help that I was break even in those cash games. On the plus side, I played well in my tournament. It sucked that I bubbled but I felt pretty comfortable.
March will be a better month. I will have more time to play even though I still have several social commitments that will eat away at my time. I am going to try to make it my highest volume month to date. Of course, that won't be too hard to do because my volume has been so light. Furthermore, I have to put in more volume in online. I think I played twice this month. I have to get more committed to poker. Any opportunity to play, I must take it. I want to build the roll up so that I don't have to play as many freerolls and can actually play real money games. 2 months in, and I'm still in the black and moving forward. I feel optimistic and I am ready to start building. Good luck to all of you in your challenges and see you on the felt.
good luck man. I think you will accomplish your goals because you are a MAN WITH A PLAN!
I was able to put in two online cash game sessions the last two nights. I played .05-.10 stud hi lo and .05-.10 Omaha hi lo. It was the first non free roll poker that I have played since my challenge began. I have never played these stakes before but it went well. I was able to bring the online bankroll up to $13.61. I think I will continue to play free rolls and mix these low limit cash games in until I feel ready to grind some sit n gos and multi table tournaments. I am thinking around the $20 mark on one site. I am not sure i will just play it by ear I guess. In any regard, good luck and see you on the felt.
My personal goal: win money playing poker today and tomorrow and the next day
Good news bad news lol
The good news is I was able to get my online bankroll up to $17.11 after final tabling another free roll. Another $2.89 and I will be up to the $20 mark. At that point, I think I will start some serious grinding of sit n gos, cash, and an occasionally tournament. I am very excited to be growing the bankroll so well. If things really start to go my way, I might have a viable bankroll by years end.
The bad news is that I had a terrible cash game session the other day. I lost $1,000 in one night. It is not the most I have ever lost but it is the most since I started this challenge. It should have never happen but it did. I didn't follow my rules on leaving, I played passively at crucial moments, and I played way too many hands and gut stuck with second best hands too often. All of that equals a disastrous night of poker. One of my biggest leaks is playing too long. But even worse, is when I am stuck in a session I play way too many hands trying to get unstuck. Then in those hands I call too light looking for a miracle turn or river card. Obviously this I a recipe for disaster. It makes the night worse. I have to make a commitment to playing better. This should be a wake up call for me. I have to stop playing around. I have to play the way I know I can night in and night out. I will have that opportunity today as I will be playing another session. I have to forget the mistakes I made and move on but remember the lessons that those mistakes taught me. Disappointment and failure are the two surest stepping stones to success. Good luck to you and see you on the felt.
Better play but no profit for this session. I played significantly better yesterday but still not the result I was hoping for. I wound up losing $125 in my 6-12 oe game. This is the first losing streak of the month and I would love to end it today. I am going to stick to the solid play game plan and hopefully my results will improve. I feel as though I played really well. I didn't play junk hands, I focused on position, and I was aggressive at the right times. I wish it would have been profitable but these things happen. I have to remain positive and let the chips fall where they may (pun intended). I am waiting right now for a seat to open up in the game to give it another shot today. I feel good and I am sure the streak will end today. Good luck to all of you and see you on the felt.
Good news good news lol
The streak is over. I had a winning session in my 6-12 game. It was good to get back on the winning side of the ledger. I played a tight style but also pretty aggressive. Obviously that's the way to go but in the heat of battle sometimes you can get away from that. There was a really huge pot that I got half of when I made a full house on fifth street of stud hi low. Almost folded on fourth when one of the villains went crazy with trip nines. I thought my hand was obvious and for him to play it so aggressively was to have trip aces (he had an ace as his door and hit the nine on fourth). There was a made low on fifth who was ramming and jamming with me. But overall, I think I played well. Maybe two or three hands I would like to take back, but it was an okay session. I wound up profiting $59. A small win, but a win is a win. My next session will be at the scene of my last debacle, the 10-20 Omaha hi low game where I punted $1,000 last week. I will have a much better session this time around. No passive play, no weak hands, no fancy moves. Just solid, tight, aggressive play.
Another good note was that I have surpassed the $20 mark online. I grinded some stud hi low and ran really well against some weaker opponents. It feels good to get to this mark. It is by no means a reason to celebrate but it makes me hopeful to get there this soon. I will probably play another session of cash before I jump into sit n gos and tournaments. I will keep this post update and hopefully we can get to the $50 mark even quicker. In any regard, good luck to you and see you on the felt.
i need my 5 points ! im 5 short !! ... 5 points please !!!!
Good online work bad live work.
Had a bad live session the other night. Lost $242 playing in the 10-20 oe game. I played super tight. Won $200 something on my first hand and then it was downhill from there. The table dynamic was interesting though. The game is attracting some good players and not too many poor players. I don't know if it makes sense for me to sit in the game anymore. Last year the players were so bad. This year, I guess the good players took notice and have flooded the game. I will make a few more appearances but if it keeps going bad I might have to stop going and focus on more profitable games.
As for online, I am now at $24.63. The cash games online are pretty easy especially at the levels I am at right now. I am going to keep grinding the cash games and try to throw in some sit n gos and tourneys. There is not a ton of traffic on the sites I play so I wonder if the sit n gos would be worth it. I like to play a high volume when I play so I am not sure if I will give it a try at the level I am currently at. I will keep you posted with what i do. In any regard, good luck to all of you out there and see you on the felt.
Good luck, last night I went to the casino and won $315 in a $40 tourney. :) Thinking about using it for one bullet in the Queen City Classic at the Horseshoe Casino in Cincinnati, OH $500,000 Guaranteed Deep Stack Tourney. Anyone in the area interested in going, hit me up. Considering selling some action.
Brick brick brick lol
That is how I would describe my last session. I played very solid and tight. Unfortunately, the board did not cooperate lol. I wound up losing another $270. This has been a bad last two months. January was really great and I am confident that I can get things going again. If this poor luck continues, I will have to reevaluate and maybe consider switching games. I might have to stop playing the 10-20 Omaha hi lo game and switch to 1-2 no limit Holdem but keep playing the 6-12 oe game. I am not sweating yet but I am disappointed. I know I am capable of better results. I know I can make some money at these games. I will just have to work a little harder in my preparation and my execution. Like they say, it's always darkest before the dawn. Good luck to all you guys and see you on the felt.
A small win is a good win.
Finished a 10-20 Omaha hi lo session the other night up $90. It's a small win but a win is a win. Especially when I have been running as poorly as I have been. This month has been a month of big losses and small wins. I am trying my best to flip that. I will be playing at least 3 and maybe 4 more sessions this month. I will most likely fall short of my goals so it is important to get some wins so I can mitigate my losses this month. I feel like I'm laying so much better since my disastrous $1,000 loss night but I haven't reaped the rewards yet. But you know life is one big session. You're going to have your ups and downs but it is how you handle them that matters. I think I have done a good job keeping my head up this month. You can't let the bad stuff bring you down in cards or in life. You have to keep chugging along and that what I am going to do. Good luck to all of you and see you on the felt.
I think the best goals are to make ones that involve the amount of work you are going to put in. and the monetary ones should follow after. Its like doing something you have a great passion for and the money will find you instead of doing something for the money
why is your online roll microscopic but your live roll is monstrous? put more online and quit live imo
Nice chunk
I played my 6-12 oe game yesterday and won $353. Everything went my way. I played great, got lucky, and booked a nice win. I think a big part of my success was that a friend of mine was playing in the game and I respect his game a lot. He use to do videos for cardrunners and play really high stakes. I felt like I had to play perfect to impress him and think by the end of the day he was. It feels good to get a nice sized win. I probably have two sessions left in the month. I hope they are equally as profitable if not more. I hope this will start as some much needed momentum heading into April. I want to start building the roll in the hopes of making it back to Vegas in June. My first target though is the wsop circuit event. Hopefully a good showing there and I will feel super confident for June. In any regard, good luck to everyone and see you on the felt.
My live roll was left over from the last two years of half assing live poker. Since Black Friday my online roll has been 0. I decided to try and challenge myself to build it up from 0. Because online is still in a murky situation in Pennsylvania, I decided not to deposit any money, but build it up from 0.
Well said, improving and getting rewarded is very sweet...back to improving my game!
