What do you guys think: is poker a game of skill or a game of luck? I mean online poker, and i want some arguements!
in my opinion you need skill to have a 5% edge over another player, but that still means the game is 55 to 45 game of luck?!

i think skill is involved more than that.. there are circumstances, situations, online set up hands, etc, that equal to i dont know what percentage but i think more than 5%.. how did you come up with that percentage anyway lol?
dumb luck!
5% is the edge of a good black jack player, and i just thought it could apply to poker... lol :P
95% skill and 5% luck
i think you need more skill ... and some luck ,,,,,,,,,,,,,not only skill..................coz the river sometimes dont work as you want ,,,,,,,,
Skill wins out in the long run, just not always in the short run. I don't think it's 95/5 though, more like 85/15.
4% ... siick !
Live poker is definitely skill over luck. Online "poker" is more luck than skill, cause people just don't care most times unless it's a high buyin tourney.
I think its both ..skill without luck is useless n ~and all the luck in the world without skill is just dumb luck :)
I think more like 70/30
I think it's the same, you obv dont know much about this game, good luck on the felt
mostly skill but luck is needed usually at least once
Haha, luck on the river and skills on the flop
I think it is mostly luck but yeah you do need some skill
I would say 70%-30% or 60-40%. But definitively more skill than luck involved. But still 30% is huge factor, thats why EPT dont have double champion yet for example :)
theres a lot more luck involved then a lot of people think!
In my case, it would be a lot of bad luck.
no way its all skill. no such thing as luck imo
poker is a game of skill and also a game of luck
I'd say it's skill in the long term, but luck in the short term.
95% skill and 5% luck
poker is a game of both skill and luck
i agree a game of skill and luck
90% skill at least.
Game of skill. Not sure why or where luck comes into play. But then again, you could be getting great hands and still lose. if you don't have the nuts, expect to lose with good luck or no luck. With great skill, you will know to fold.
some skill and sometimes I go with my gut feeling so I guess you could call it gut luck
There's obviously a lot of luck in poker but overall, it's a game of skill.
i thinks it both skill and luck..
You know then u play in real life not online it is skill what matters and then u play online ill say its 50v50
Its a game of Skill and need 5-10% Luck! xD
you guys get the edge wrong... i mean how much % you have on winning against someone else.
No one makes a final table without luck IMO...how many they make is skill...
poker is definetley a game of both luck and skill
If it was not luck - I would constantly be won. Good luck to sozhileniyu important factor.
100% skill in the long run. I think it's about 60-40 for any single hand.
Over any lenth of time everyone will get all the same hands so if you show a profit over a big hand history there is skill there
If everyone at the table is playing perfect poker then luck has a large factor. If the table is filled with bad players then skill will win out. I believe it varies but with most people agree that in the long run skill is what wins money.
