I can only get one new system for my child this year. I can't decide between Xbox1 and PS4. Any thoughts?
Why do they call it xbox1??
I have heard bad things about both but mostly bad things about the new xbox.
Think about what your child's favorite genres are and pick the system that best suits those interests.
I dont like the Xbox at all and I am a big PS fan.
So I would buy the PS4.
How old is your child?
i say neither especially if they are for children... seriously i have been a console gamer for a long time and it just absorbs your life they are both just ploys to make money dont do it DONT DO IT
Xbox much more better , i got them both believe me
Maybe you can buy a good computer instead console its good too..
Xbox1 for sure have mine on preorded and C.O.D. ghost also =)
Thanks for all the answers. I have done some more research and I am leaning toward the Xbox1.
I just bought a ps3 like around chritsmas time too lol.....should of probh waitied for the new consoles to come out but I rarewly even play the system....I only play Madden really so when that comes out ill start up again probably.
The PS4 isn't out yet, so how can you even compare the XBox to it? So far, the XBox is still the best gaming console out there.
Spend some time with your child, read to him or her. Video games can be too excessive for kids
i have heard nothing but bad things about xbox1
if your kid is young why not consider a nintendo? otherwise i would wait for ps4
Really? I am leaning pretty far toward the PS4. Makes me wonder if anyone here has heard of Sony's acquisition of Gai Kai. For those who do not know, Gai Kai will be a Playstation app that will stream games from PS3, PS2, and PS1 to the PS4. It won't be available right at release, but it will be available in early - mid 2014. That is what is mainly tilting my opinion toward the PS4.
So I've heard rumors that for the Xbox1 if you buy a game you cannot play that game on another Xbox1. True or not?
kids and I have childhood was fun, despite the wooden toys nailed to the floor, and the lack of internet in the USSR was cool
I think the xbox is better!
If your child is under say 12-13, I would recommend the Xbox1, if he is over, then PS4. I believe they made Xbox easier to use for the children that play them! If you haven't noticed yet I'm a Sony fan :)
but in all seriousness I agree with what another guy said, have you considered a Wii? It's not next-gen gaming but s/he is just a child after all and would probly have the most fun with the Wii. Also, it will be easier on your wallet :)
ps4 all day, i have an xbox and i honestly wish i had gotten a ps3
PS4 will supposedly start carrying the Halo series. Being that Playstation has always been the superior machine, that will be all it takes for me to make the switch.
Defnetly Playstation4...have PS 1,2 and 3 ... Resident Evil 2 on PS1 i love it :D
neither, go buy a whiffle ball set and go outside, jeez the kidz these days
Ps4 should be ridiculous. Although I mainly use it for blue rays or Netflix, but I do like the NBA2k and Madden series(except 13 was a little disappointing imo).
ps4 is going to be a must have console for me expecially because it will have alot of better graphics than xbox and will most likely be cheaper, because xbox has always charged to play online where playstation has not
Buy neither and teach him how to play poker.
i dont like neither of those they seem boring to me....so idk i gotta see wahts good.
I buy playstation since the one, and I'll buy the ps4, yes, you can see if is better buy a good computer, it's all new, so, wait and research more
Since this is for your kid the choice will depend on their age. I know that the Kinect has been a hit with younger kids, but if your's are more into the "hardcore" type games like COD, Sports games like Madden, etc they probably won't use it. I personally am leaning towards a PS4. I have an Xbox 360 now, I like it, but PS Plus has so much more free content the Live and Gai Kai is swinging my decision too.
Personally i'm waiting to see what develops after release. I really want PS4 for Gran Tourismo 6 but that isn't available at launch.
I have the xbox but the grandkids are wanting some new player thing. Always coming out with something new.
both systems have pros and cons. guess long as i can play shooter games and madden im fine with either
I will just stick with ps3 fuk paying that much for either of those not worth it.
Xbox1's all come with the Kinnect. It sounds good but it is really a spy/snooping tool that can never be turned off & the Xbox will not work with it disconnected. Research it online some. It has a feature which allows you to turn the system on with a voice command, hence it is always listening. Not to mention that it can see through walls, powerful enough to see a color image through walls 3-4 rooms away.
I guess if you buy the new Xbox1 you must be naive and think Bill Gates is a really nice guy "helping" all those starving kids in Africa! ROFL
wow thats crazy that theres no way to turn that off!
Even tho I agree that the xbox1 seems to be a spying device, I could imagine that if its left unplugged that it can't spy without power.
At the moment it would be silly to buy the xbox one, not many people will buy it, only the die hard xbox fans. Ps users will stay with the ps and many xbox users are converting to PS. Your child would much prefer the playstation as i can guarantee thats what his friends will be using, and you dont want a console which no friends have
The concept of the Xbox1 I think is really cool. But, to always have it on is kind of strange to me. I love xbox. I went out and bought the limited edition MW3 xbox and Limited Edition MW3 earforce deltas wireless headphone and wireless chat headset. I think I might stick with that for a while. Plus, I pretty much only use my xbox to watch netflix and espn on anyway. Since I play so much poker....
I will probably be purchasing a playstation for the fourth time in my life. Hasn't done me wrong up to this point.
