I think its obvious that the main way this site gains members is those who go to the private section on the poker sites and see the game listed. The best way to increase new members would be to find some way to get people to go to the private section on merge or whatever site the tourney is on.
Im not saying this is an easy thing to do but there might be some way of doing it. If you go onto Carbon you see that sometimes they get like 3K entries in their $50 freerolls. People playing those games with 3K entries for a prizepool of $50 would jump at the chance to play our games with ~90 entries but pretty much an equal prizepool. The thing is Carbons freeroll is on their main tournament page and that is where all the traffic is.
You have already spent money on advertising, why not get the list of entries into these $50 carbon freerolls and send them all 1 coupon. Count the cost of the coupons sent as an advertising expense, and it has the added benefit of being sent directlly to your target audience

I was on Carbons Main Tournaments page looking for free rolls to enter. I think the PO free roll was the next one coming up so I Googled PO, signed up and have been here since November 2012. I love PO. I have been able to build a bankroll and play real money games everyday thanks to the opportunities at PO to win money in their free rolls.
I have been around less in the last couple months but my interest/love for PO hasn't gone down I have just become busier. I have tried other free roll sites after signing up for PO but none of them are as good as PO (IMO) and I haven't been active at any other one than PO.
Thanks to all PO's administrators for creating and maintaining a great place for good people to enjoy poker and each other.

Honestly, I found poker owned by Carbon private tourney. I researched your site and then climbed aboard. This is by far the best site for poker and it gets you into the game and freerolls easier and is more fun than any other site I have been a member of. And I have been a member of a lot. This is a good site and I will continue to be a member here for years to come! As long as you guys wish to have me here of course.

How many new members did we get off of the free ps fb freeroll?
I think the best advertising PO could have is one free tourney a month a rotate rooms each month. We want the freeroll degens, so we can lure them into one free tourney and hopefully get them interested enough in the daily freerolls to come check out the site. Almost everyone came to this site because we saw the freerolls, so this should get some people to pay attention to po.
As far as the site being confusing to new users, I think there needs to be a be a better new user guide. The new user guide now is a guide on how to complete offers, but it doesn't give any information on how the site works. There should be a basic faq page that you don't have to go into the forums to see that explains how the site works. Things to cover would be:
1. That you earn points to enter freerolls and various promotions. Look at how many new users post asking for passwords because they don't understand you have to earn the points.
2. That the FAQ for all areas are actually in the forums. It took me a couple weeks to figure this out.
3. The current new user guide should expand on the basics of how to do tasks by adding how to find a mentor if you still aren't getting it.
4. That client exists!! There are all of these vague references to the client all over the site, but nothing I ever noticed. It took me MONTHS before I finally figured out you could play poker on pokerowned!!
I want to add, this site is amazing!! I found this site by looking at the private tourneys, and I tried a couple of others, but this is the only one I bothered doing anything with. It's because there is so much that this site offers. The number of freerolls is great, promotions excellent, forums are pretty active, client is great. Unfortunately, it takes alot of time and energy to figure out everything this site has to offer when you're new, and it's confusing. The easier you make it to understand in the beginning, the more new members you will have that stick around.

I saw "PokerOwned" in a freeroll title and googled it.
Been wanting to join an online poker community and this place seems cool.
