This post is incredibly helpful, and filled with good information. Hindsight is 20/20, but reading this gives new members the chance to see things BEFORE they appear in the rear-view mirror, lol. Thanks!

I wasn't sure if Poofy has those extra privileges yet as Super Mod (Redeems and such) to include her on the buying points issue.
I think that " guess I have to post here to be able to chat" thread should be stickied too.
I was a member for months before I figured that one out!!
Great information. I too would have liked to know these things as a new member.
In the description of what hand beats what from above, four of a kind is described as: Any four cards of the same rank. If two players share the same four of a kind (on the board), the bigger fifth card (the kicker) decides who wins the pot. What is meant by, "two players share the same four of a kind"? There is only four of each suit in a deck and Aces have a higher value then Kings.
If you are playing wild cards and 2 people have a royal flush. One player has only the 10 and ace and 3 wild and the other player has the 10, king and ace and 2 wilds, does one win over the other because less wilds or is it a tie?
The "whale" is the holy grail of poker - a big-moneyed, amateur poker player with a bottomless bankroll, an eye for the gamble and next-to-no sense of what's truly happening on the felt.
Ooh, thanks for this. Lets see if I'm in any of the promotions!
This is great, I love it.
For me it was how to "opt in" for the freeroll. I missed the first one I was trying to attend because I had no clue :)

Amen, brother! The hard-earned lessons are the ones that stick with you.
I wish I had signed up on poker rooms through pokerowned so I could get the discount coupons.
Thanks for the info..... ahh hindsight. See you at the tables!
Thank you greatly for taking the time to post this very beneficial post for I'm sure tons of forum members, both old and new. It's nice to have at least a blog to read that explains the basic logistics for starters as if not then people could potentially get too discouraged to ultimately not play at all. Thanks again and best of luck both on and off the felts, always. *hugs*
Thanks this post helped a lot.
Now I know that when you 'win' a coupon in Carbon and it says "Coupon Does Not Expire"...or "No Expiration Date"..it's not totally true. Last month I won 2 tickets to the 250k games and I was waiting for a decent time to register for them. :( Well, the promotions ended..and so did the coupons that "did not expire." Now I know what I didn't know before! :)
Great list, thanks for the information.
