What's a good strategy to play these things?
Do you have to 'rebuy' everytime you enter so you can x2 up at the same pace as the rest of the groups?
How do you counter the advent of being moved to another table?

Rebuy tournaments are ok. Just one rebuy though.
I do not play in rebuy tournaments for the chance that all idiots play based on the sins committed can rebuy ....
The plan in a rebuy tournament is to chip up early. You should always buy a double stack if the game will allow it. Always use the addon. If you cant afford rebuys and the addon you should find a tournament you can afford.
Tried it both ways (buying lots of rebuys playing loose and tight with minimum 1rb and add on)...
Method 1: It is way easier to cash with dbl rebuy stack start and then challenging everyone with middle and better pocket pairs and rebuying in the 1st session. Problem is you need to place in top 20 or better to get ur money back. That being said - the real money is in a top 10 and you will get closer to that more times with more rebuys and the 1 add-on. Hell you take top 3 and ur tourneys are paid for a month at least.
Method #2: Tight and solid with minimum rebuys/add-on. If you get a few hands early you can "earn" your rebuys with solid play. Thats a big if when every donky at the table is drawing. So it may take a few tourneys to out race the 65 suiteds and J10 river str8's. This a safer, BRM way to play but you will cash less ofte but make your money back most of the time. Problem is that you will be up against guys that rebought 5x until they won a 5 way all in with pocket 5's and a pot of 30k. You wont top 10 very often trying to out donk 50k stacks all around you to make it into the top 10 - where the real money is and where the fun is.
IF your a gd poker player it doesn't matter which way you choose - if you like cashing in touneys and don't mind paying more up front - or if you like having fun - dbl rebuy and shove like a boss in the first session. Last tourney I played like this (it paid top 50 players- very easy to cash) but I needed a top 20 and made it to like 22. Lost $1.90 I think - but was way more fun having a chance to get a top 10.
1R 1A more then that begin sound like bingo
i dont like rebuys i think once your out your out but if im playing ill only rebuy once and add on if im not in the top 10
%.
i also rebuy the first hand so i can double up find that strategy works for me
just play poker ;D
always 2x in start you can play tight end duoble faster
Debes jugar poker y usar toda tu experiencia para ganar buenas manos.
I hate rebuy tournaments, becouse tournement is very long.
I think we better avoid playing rebuy games... Instead of that we can play a new game...
any suggestions....
i never play rebuys it cost too much:/
I would say jus play to the best of your ability. I don't play in these tho because of the excessive loose play and the extreme ammount of donks, more so than in regular mtt tourneys. If you do play them tho, as I said jus play your best but also change it up some in order to make it further and not get sucked out to donkland. Best of luck to you. *hugs*
A variation of LaserCats strategy that often works is to play super tight throughout the rebuy period until 5 mins remain. Everyone with short stacks pushes like crazy and you can easily double, then double again. If you miss on the first attempt, you can choose to leave for a minimal investment, or then do the double buy and addon.....I often go this route and cash pretty often.
1000 posts, lol.
One rebuy and addon is ok. Anything else I don't like.
I'm not sure about PokerStars, but on Paradise, you start out w/ 1500 chips in re-buy tourneys. If you have 1500 or less, you can re-buy at anytime. Some sites you have to bust out first. But it souds like PS may follow the same guidelines as Paradise. Maybe you were over the allowed limit?
I absolutely HATE rebuy tourneys. Donking is bad enough when it is free, but when people with more money then sense have a chance to prove it? NO THANKS!
rebuy is good once maybe twice dont use it too many times cause it can destroy ur balance in seconds
Ai like rebuy 2$ r
i like one rebuy tourney but when it is like 1000 rebuys i hate it!!!
i try not to rebuy unless my chips get dangerously low that way its sort of a extra help
i HATE THESE GAMES. DONT DO VERY WELL BUT I TRY NOT TO BUYIN FOR MORE THAN WHAT I HAVE A CHANCE TO GET BACK. ONLY PLAY MICROS AND MAYBE A $1-$3 GAME WITH LIMITED REBUYS IS NEEDED
Not a fan of the rebuy tournaments. Too many people willing to flip with any 2. I'll only play these if I wanna donk around.
Hate rebuys, don't usually play in them.
Rebuys are for suckers. Remember he who rebuys gave his chips to someone else. That someone else now has a larger stack then the person who rebuys (usualy). The biggest mistake people make in re-buy tourny's is thinking "oh well if I loose them I can get more".
Play normally, and try not to rebuy, only addon at breaks.
ai like to play Rebuy Tournements of 5$ rebuy
I'm still not sure about which strategy works best, but as far as BRM goes, I always plan on 3 rebuys and 1 add on. Therefore if it's a $1 rebuy tournament, I wouldn't actually play in it unless I have the BR for a $5 freezeout.
So when you play a rebuy you need to count on playing at least double maybe triple what you buy in for.
Don't really care for rebuys/add-on tournament,,, I can lose my money fast enough.
I am a big fan of re-buys. I feel like I can find better spots than most to gamble early. I have no problem getting involved multi-way with speculative hands for stacks. I feel that once I get a big stack, I can leverage it better than most. Having a big stack allows you to be more selective, and also to put massive pressure on medium stacks, as they will have to go all-in or fold. I remember this one absurd rebuy here on merge that I made a killing off of. In the tournament, the top 5 or so got paid. It was a $3 hyper turbo, and on the break you received a 30k add-on. So the tournament got down to like 10 people, and the BB was more than the initial re-buy. However, because of the fact that 5th place paid over $50, people kept re-buying in an attempt to make it to the break and get the add-on. As a result, I was able to continually get in great spots. I ended up getting runner up I believe. I think that the tourney still is on merge. It's a crazy tournament, and with enough players is highly profitable. Speaking of which, this is the month I get my Sharkscope out of the red. I really haven't played enough games, and I have bounced around in stakes to really have a good indicator as to where my game is at. I feel that I am ready to start tearing the games up, but we will see this month where my game really is at. I plan on playing over 500 mtt's, which is about as many games as I have played since joining Carbon well over a year ago. Bottom line is I need more volume and I need to keep the BI's relatively level.
