use a strict BRM, know the value of a dollar just becasue your playing online it still is real money, people tend to forget that. Make sure you have 20 buyin's before you play MTT or cash game. Good Luck.
What is the rule of thumb for how many buy ins for SNGs?
Here's a good rule of thumb: 2% For MTT, and MTT SNG. 5% for Cash and 1 Table SNG. (MTT=Multi-table tourney) (SNG=Sit and Go)
do buyins which are 10 % of ur bankroll e.g if ur bank roll $ 20 max u shud do for one game is $ 2 buyin but i recommend $ 1 buyin and totally stop buying in if u dont make profits if ur bankroll reaches half i.e $ 10 then u gotta play freerolls and try reach $ 20 again good luck.
Depends on what network you are focusing on. If it is the Merge Network, You should start with 300 bumblebee games.
Those bumblebees are retarded. The players in them just got off the banana boat and I would hate poker if thats how it were played. I think you must find a happy medium in low buyins and decent action. Hard to find whats right for you but you will.
I'd say to invest a solid 50 and play 1.10 MTT's. Play only strong hands in this games, and be sure to raise with a nice 2 cards before the flop, as these games are low limits and players are quite reckless with them.
best way to build a br is to stake mpetit or buy his action
I use a careful BRM: 1% of my BR for MTTs, 2% for single table SNGs, 25 full buy ins for cash games
Necessary for a bankroll each game type:
• 2 players HU and any number of players double up SNGs - 150 big
• 6 player SNG - 100 big
• 10 players SNG - 50 big
• Up to 1000 MTT-50 big players
• MTT over 1000 players - 100 big
• MTT over 2500 players and any re-buy tournament big -150
• MTT than 100 players - 75 big
Bankroll manger it shows ..
? When you play at a limit.
? What bankroll should take a step back, for there to prepare for a new ascent.
In this lesson compliance is essential for a player to become a winner. Without proper bankroll management and the best poker players can go bankrupt.
But what is essential to bankroll managment? Simply approach is based on bankroll size to determine what limits you should play after a series of losses that will not be completely threatened by bankruptcy. If the stakes are too high compared to bankroll even one wrong hands can lead to zero and we pay again. The reason why a word to follow bankroll management is nothing but a variant. Version is variation between gains and losses, so we once down once up. However you should be able to survive periods when the game goes wrong.
Every time you enter the game to play we maximize the opportunity for profits and minimize the disadvantages resulting from the loss.
i find being a good poker player helps but uno could be wrong...
get a degree in economics that helps lol
haha @tommy62278 that's funny sht,gl with that one mate.:)
Ok thanks.
should i use a lock in steak for brm. mean If i when 20$ and play other games but dont go below an percent of my winning. have left is 15$ then go back in free roll until i raise the steaks more
yes friend u shud definitely do this or else u wud feel tempted to play more n more and realise ur bankroll down to $ 5 or maby evn zero. U shud try ur best to play within $ 15 to $ 20 but can push it to $ 10 maybe u make profits and go back above $ 20 if not then no problem will take a lot of time to get back to $ 20 but be patient once u back there u can again start playing $ 1 sngs or mtts avoid the rebuy ones tho u shud play those at a later stage once u got enuff balance..
I usually dont play in a game with a buy in more than 10 % of my bankroll. The times i dont follow that rule, i lose a lot, sometimes even all
i could definitely start using some of these BRM ideas, probably just degen and do my own thing tho! GL out there!
good brm is a great thing to have, still working on mine, much better than i use to be..online is a beast sometimes you need to be discipline enough to shut it down for the day if you lost say 15-20% of your roll, do some freerolls as well to maintain your roll..gl
Thanks for tips guys. I will try to build my bankroll.
building your roll is the way you do it :)
Being patient is key, BRM will be huge once your on your way.
How do you guys figure in rebuys and add ons? Do you just assume that you will use them all and add that to the entry fee of the tournament when determining if your BR can take it?
MAnaging bankroll is real important. Just figuring out what to play and not play is the hard thing to do.
all in when a few bucks and double up til i get $50 or go broke
whenever i win big, i lose it almost all in the next couple of days. I am getting to aggresive. I am trying to change that, but it doesn't last for long
Ok, I am not sure why, especially as a member of this site you would stop playing freerolls at $20. If you are trying to build a solid roll you should be playing in as many of the PO tournaments as possible for both good practice as well as adding to your bankroll. There are already a couple very solid posts in the thread regarding buy-in %'s and so forth so I wont repeat them but I will say again, dont stop playing these PO tournaments.
not more den 5% for sng end 10% wen you play MMT end god luck...
dont play for all your money be wery tight....
Agreed. I don't play many due to my schedule, but I still make time for a tournament now and then. Any positive adjustment to your balance is a good thing.
And $20 is hardly enough to really get started. While it's possible to take that $20 and never look back, it's more likely that you'll be starting over again, which will just lead to more frustration.
Play the .11 cent tournaments. Then move up a little bit at a time. Too bad carbon poker doesn't have the options that pokerstars does. There, you can really stretch a tiny bankroll.
the way i built my bankroll when pokerstars still let people play in the us was to deposit a solid 100 and if i lost it, i would only play freerolls until i had enough money to pay it back. luck for me i started playing low level tourneys and started getting every good at them, so i had gotten my bankroll up to 1000 then from the it just went up. keep doing whats best for your limit, and play low level and get to a substansal amount to where you can start plaing for higher stakes.
Pstars had enough options that if you were good with BR management, you could never bust out. I started with $20 and twice fell to under $1 (once to 17 cents) and brought it back up until I finally grinded up to $240 before black friday
Options are limited today, and it makes it much more difficult to go from zero to hero, i have alot of respect for anyone that takes on that challenge and makes money
