I think he got a pocket pair small one and he knew you got high card and you touch nothing
This appears to be a good competition
maybe he has a pair bigger than river 7 ...maybe he's got a pair 88 or 99..
thx man. ya he took a real weird line, if your gonna 3 bet with KQ outta position u shud be willing to fire pretty much any flop. If he fires the flop im most likely just folding giving him credit for an overpair. But when he checks i kinda figured he had something like AQ,AJ so with the nut no pair i decided to take a shot at the pot. then when he called my bet on the flop i was a lil lost, didnt see how he could just check call unless he flopped a set or something, but then i wasnt really sold on the fact that he would 3 bet with that small of a pair. wasnt 100% sure i had the best hand at the river but i def wasnt sold on an overpair. nonetheless he got owned and he knew it! haha
ya, a lot of people that have responded dont really understand how i can call with ace high here. but your exactly right in that when he doesnt continuation bet the flop it just looks super weak/super strong. it feels like he either flopped a set or has air, and i just didnt think that he would 3 bet with a small poket pair of 66 33 or 22. And if he did have an overpair, you would think he would continuation bet the flop or at least chek raise the flop. The hand just "didnt make sense" and oftentimes when the story jsut doesnt add up like that, there bluffing.
1st your open it's terrible
Opening 5x? rly bad
No stats on the guy?
If he's 3betting you after such a big raise he's prob got it...
As played probably an overpair like 99's
I always get burned with AK, someone with small pair always seems to beat me
no actually my open was not terrible. this was played in a live brick and mortar cash game, in case youve never played in a live casino cash game before people dont raise 2.5-3x. its more standard to see 5x raises especially when the majority of the table has in excess of $200. go watch high stakes poker episodes before you talk shit and see how with the blinds 300-600 most people are opening with $3000 raises
One answer, get the hell out,,,and I have no idea what he's got..
first of all....did u have a crystal ball or something?..no?..then why u raised pre-flop?..nobody EVER knows what comes on table...=/
2o) flop comes 632, do you have anything here with ur "precious" AK?..no?... then why u raised? ....=/
3o) turn comes 6 and both check, first reasonable thing u do....
4o) river is a 7, still: do u have anything yet with ur "wonderfull" AK?..no?.....ok, then call his raise n see ur money go away with his pair of 2.
simple like that.
;)
Thought he had pair of 10s or some other pair. Nice bluff by him but even better call by you. Nice hand
my AK keeps running to KK & AA , sucky luck damn!!!!!!!1221
I play ak like aces. If I am gonna lose I am gonna lose with AK
I would say taht he has a high pocket pair and that you are in really bad position. Especially because he check-called you on the turn. He wouldnt bet 30$-- a mediocre sized bet. He knew you were on AK.
I dont think that AK is good their most of the time. It seems like he played the hand like he may have hit a small peice of it but was not sure if he was good or not.
I strive for you to think about this intuitively and not just from the basis of "WELL I ONLY HAVE ACE HIGH."
thats beginner thinking.
the questions you should be asking yourself are:
1)what did he 3-bet with that hes now checked the flop? AQ,AJ,A10....some poket pair?
2)if he did 3-bet with a poket pair, why has he now checked the flop? why would he not just continuation bet the flop?
3)if he was trapping and did in fact have a poket pair, WHY did he not check raise my flop bet!? He flopped a set of 66 33 or 22? Would he really 3-bet with this hand?
****THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS U NEED TO ASK YOURSELF IF YOU ARE ANSWERING THIS FORUM TO TRY AND IMPROVE YOUR PLAY. IF YOU CONTINUE PLAYING POKER AND MORE SPECIFICALLY SITUATIONS LIKE THIS ONLY THINKING ABOUT YOUR OWN HAND AND NOT ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS YOUR NEVER GOING TO BECOME A BETTER PLAYER
Nice call. The way it was played he is either going to have air or like jacks or queens and didn't know how to proceed on the flop.
Sz?val ne nyomja mostan?bam allint AK, mert akkor m?r 55-verte meg. lol :/
so now I do not press AK allint because I had to have 55 pairs are knocked me
nice call just be careful at higher stakes the will use what you thought against you
Fold it, you're beat. Not sure what he has, maybe trips.
ak is the best hand ever in the entire world. it should be played to the end shoved all in and raised. even with nothing on the board. Ak high will win every time. come play
That makes sense to me. I think he saw your weakness in the check on the turn, and put you on an AK or AQ that missed the flop, so he attempted to bluff you using his table image on the river, but because he showed too much weakness on the flop and turn, I think that he would have been better off just checking again on the river. Often, when people do weird things like that that don't make much sense, it's because they are bluffing or have a very strong hand and are trying to trap.
Just go all in and see what happens, it's only money.
me too, i also had miserable moments losin with a-k... some are not even worth stating, but i'll say i've lost 2 pocket 2's before
ak high is good for when the other donk has any of the following. AQ AJ KQ...... and missed assuming you can put them on a hand
maybe a mid pocket pair or an ace with a weaker kicker is possible here. what was the result of the hand or did you fold?
usually i win with ak, but sometimes annoyingly lose.
hola alguien que habla en espanol y me ayude a ganar puntos para los freeroll de pokestars
AK vs K8 hand of pokerstars....flop A K 8...turn Q......river 8...wtf..
my views on this are the same as everyones
Easy. Call. He saw, that you've got some High Cards, but nothing on Board. So he bluffs. I would call.
All in everytime with AK, just go with it and hope.
