I think a cash game player has to be more of a mathematical player and a tournament player a very intelligent player with a lot of hard decisions to make
definitely tournament player is more skill, .. the main event is way harder then any cash table could be. you have to play for 5 days just to make it to the money...
i do both because there the only two things you can do
a cash game is much harder then a tournament that's for sure.so i go on cash player
tournament player forever!! is the best system!!!
Cash game are way harder then tournament. I can actually win money in tourney. Cash game always kills my bankroll, especially in short hand play
Tournament play takes alot more strategy and knowledge.
Its a different skill set even though some of the skills overlap. Its really in the eye of the beholder on which is more skillful. I would say its a tie.
i think tournament players it takes more skill
I think cash games are more difficult because its real cash involved in every bet unlike points in tourneys where its easier u either make it or u dont exception being rebuy tourneys i dont like those much
I think both are the same skill level but cash table is playing for real money
in cash games you can looose your money quicker in tourney takes more time and could win i prefer tourney
They are 2 different games. Cash game u can always go back in to ur pocket and rebuy in to the game where as a turny, once ur out ur out.. Cash games you can play them hands no matter what, where as turnys you have to be able to fold what you think is the best hand or best preflop hand.. IMO it takes more "skill" to play turnys unless your a bingo player that doesnt care if u get put out.. You Have to fold in situations where in a cash game youd play the hand and reload if possible. but they both have different skill sets
I agree they are 2 different games, because cash player are best at cash tables and tournament players are good at tournaments. It is a different game even though it is still poker.
Both require a little different skill set. Find play some what looser in cash games, lot more into the hands with multi-pot action. Find my hand range opens up a tad with those I would never play out postion in MTT.
yea cash games are more difficult but, the poker is playing very nice real not necesary online
the most skillful players cant do well in both cash and tourneys its the matter of being able to switch your playing style
Each require different skills. In a tourney everyone starts out with the same amount, a cash game could vary on the players buy in.
each is a deffernt style of game. cash is more stressful then a tourney
The most skilled player will be good at both cash games and tounrnaments. The best pokers have a set of skills not just one.
I think an argument can be made for both, different mindset
they are both 2 different games that both require a lot of skill and ability. i find tournaments easier, and cash harded but thats not everyone
I believe cash players and tourny players to be well rounded need to have the same skills to be successful in either.
I also think both is just based on the player and the blind levels. quicker blinds usually more passive aggressive players are successful. but with slow blind passive players usually prosper.
I am bad in cash games and building my bankroll on SNG
def a tourny player
I think the harder of the 2 are cash games. But tournaments are tough in there own right to, you have to make some tough decisions at times otherwise you are out. Even calling a idiot with Aces makes it tough with the shit people from here and everywhere shove with. But I would say cash games are tougher, just because, well for me, the fact is I buy into a cash games once, and not for the max ever, in the middle of max and min, and it is very tough to get in one and try to double the max buy in. It's also tougher imo because others like to just buy back in over and over again, and if they are steaming, it makes you job much harder. In a tournament, you bust him out, you don't have to worry about him, in cash game, he get right back in there and you got a huge target on your back instantly. That is also why I don't like rebuy tourneys, CASH GAMES FOR SURE!
everyone is talking about different skills set but no one is being specific.
Outside of the ability to re-buy or top-off in cash games, i would say the big difference is that cash games are deep stack poker so people can take more risks leading to a looser and higher variance game.
also in cash games you don't need to take into consideration your m-value which helps if you're getting short stacked and decide not to top-off, so playing short stacked is a bit easier.
what else am i missing?
cash games is more stres full
i think it takes skill to play both. tourney you can lean on someone withyour stack, cash you cant, as they can just rebuy, unless you know they have nothing behind it then you can lean on them. but cash you can also make calls for all your chips on a flush draw and other hands, and it cost you a rebuy, but a tourney might be at stake if you call with a flush draw. You have to know these aspects going in, or it can present problems for you.
Both are extremely different. I personally do better in tournaments though.
I like tourneys over cash. I can limit my total loss to just one buy-in with a tourney. Cash games can eat up a bankroll with some bad luck.
they both are hard to play some players are more lose in tournaments game.
they are 2 totaly different games.... i play them both bad.. lol
I think they both have different skills to be excellent in each. And I think they both require a lot of discipline to be good. you need a lot of patience while playing a tournament and perseverance. in cash games, i think are hard when you get up to the higher levels and have to constantly be learning new ways to beat the people at your table. In tournaments, players are tossed around from table to table, so it is slightly harder to get a read on people during a tournament and plus there are just so many more people involved. But in a cash game, you can get strong reads and study your opponents well at the table you sit down at.
cash players can adjust beter in tournament den tournament player in cash games ..so cash players are beter
I like to play tournament no limit.
i perfer tourneys, once your out your out. I dont even like rebuys with is like a cash game in a sense.
