Its going to be very very very very interesting how this works out for Nevada. Honestly I really dont know how many GRINDERS will pack up and move to Nevada just to play on SouthPoint when the game selection is going to be weaker than Merge and if your grinding for a living your living out of the USA for atleast 6 months out of the year.
I think this is a good first step for the US but honestly there are still just way much that has to be done. This is going to take years for states to figure out unless something happens federally and right now I just dont see that happening. I dont see many ppl flocking to Nevada just to play LEGALLY and pay ridiculous amounts of rake and the taxes will be nuts.
But in hindsight you have to start somewhere and I guess this is a good place to start. Just sucks were never going to see Stars back in the USA market and when we do get something its going to be state by state and small game selection and will never be like it once was, unless something dramatically changes and happens which is a longshot in my eyes.

Am I missing the point here, or is it a bit silly to open an online poker room in a place where you can play poker in more than 100 venues?

I dont think they are going to get the results they are looking for by only allowing one state. I know its just the beginning of it but its going to show poor numbers which is going to make it look like its not worth it.. I dunno,i have mixed feeling about it and would like to start playing some poker that our gov will allow..
