I haven't heard of any issues concerning US players not getting paid. Be prepared for a wait time on the check they send (up to 6-8 weeks), and as far as I know, that's they only withdrawal method for US players. It would be beneficial to become verified with Carbon (or whichever Merge skin you choose to play on) if you aren't already. There's a thread in one of these forums with the details on becoming verified. I have heard of a couple of checks bouncing, but everything I've seen has shown Merge taking care of these issues.
