It seems the whole "regulation" thing is not happening fast enough. I would have though Vegas would have been first but NJ I guess is the only State to step it up?

the US government hates anything they don't have their hands in. They want to tax the poker sites so they can get their cut and get richer. I am so sick of the US government. I want to put ALL the politicians in one building in DC and let it fall down on them and start over again. They are all useless.
I do not know why politicians are so against poker considering a lot of play in their free time. I would love for it to have a better name and be regulated in the united states of America.
They mad we can make what they do and more and work less than them. Its a game to them but a life to some of us
Check Delaware... they are kinda a state.. Heard Jersey and Vegas were tying some sites together.
They really don't care one way or the other about poker, online or otherwise. They are trying to please the most vocal of their constituents, many of whom believe they must be the moral gatekeepers of us lesser beings. We can try to counter that with our own voices, but there will always be fewer poker players than there are people who like to feel superior because they have one god or another telling them what to say.
There not getting money from it and there not controlling it so they want to just like everything else.
anything they arent profiting from they hate...
its how the world works
all about lobbyists in vegas and casinos!
They certainly , do not get paid, for anything , that happens online....Especially Poker, so...ask any Politician U know, is he/her, play online ?
they don't hate it - i've heard stories of some notable politicians getting together and having games. Its really about taxes and the fact that they don't want to be bothered with creating a big 26,000 page tax code that works for everyone while dealing with all the other shit on the table right now
2 things: 1. Bc they suck and lose at poker. 2. I would think its just that they want everything to be really random and real cards
politicians like to think they know whats best for everyone (especially democraps) so in there eye's gambling is a bad thing that is a jumping off to other things like crime and drugs...they also think its such a minor issue that they don't have to deal with it at all..if ppl started contacting there local politicans and letting them know how you feel about it I think they would have to start taking it more serious.just my opinion
thats right U.S. goverment cant control it the politicians are not make money off it why support it no money in there pockets
because they are greedy they get kickbacks from the casinos so they can exist it's all about money and power
Many times you will find that it is what "they" call the right wing side. There are solid religious beliefs which I do understand. As we all know poker/gambling has destroyed the lives of those who have the inability to control there addictive nature. It is the old, "Stick up for those that cannot stick up for themselves" Also one of there arguments is that its such an easy carrier unit to corrupt the younger generation, as it is so easy for children to access many things which they should not!
I do understand where they are coming from but on the other side of the coin, the side which I am on, I think it can be done in such a way with proper regulations and safety nets in place. It can, and eventually will, be done!
If there is one thing we learn and try to hone in these great games of skill is, PATIENCE.....:) So I shall wait, as usual......:)

vegas did step it up thery were the first ones to doi it. plus the politicians r old
i think it going to happen in other states they need tax dollars.
Because they don't play poker and since they don't play poker they don't like poker!
There's also opposition from the Indian nations and live casino owners.
In New York the New York Racing Association (NYRA) and State Lottery, which are controlled by politicians and provide money and jobs to their friends will stall legal online poker as long as they can because they perceive it as a threat to their revenue stream. What they don't get is that online poker players aren't going to bet less on horses because they can now play online poker. They also aren't going to dump less money into retarded slot machines at the state sanctioned fake casinos which only offer negative expectation games. Eventually they will come around - when they get enough bribes.
i hate all the crap that has to go with all their bs "we dont get money so eff u guys" its a lot of bull if they thought of it it would help all the states if u win big ur most likely not going to spend it all on poker you would buy stuff in ur state and help the economy.
the us gov wants to tax all of the online poker sites
i would like to know the same thing, i think ts due to the fact that us citizens can win money and its not really taxed i guess
I agree it seems like a win for them. They can tax the sites who charge a bigger rake.
Politicians are lazy and hate work. Legalizing something is work.
sigh, because most of them play, and suck.
Well I am definetly ready for a NY poker site like the NJ ones. Bring it on already!
The real reason lays deeper than we will ever know. lol
yes me too so close and yet so far but you can go over bridge to cafe with wiifi
I think it is all about protecting the wealthy, at the expense of the ordinary citizen. Morality has little to do with it. Most of the gambling addicts are addicted to slots, sports betting, or table games like Roulette and Craps. Poker is a game of skill, and is as American as baseball.
Agreed with musicmannn ^ politicians realize it is a way to make money without their ability to tax atm
Wow the regulation gets more and more messed up. Still make no some but someone got to hate somewhere
if poker was a game of skill... maybe you havent played our fr's
its because we took over all the old fuks game they say its and old persons game and they don't like the young and new kids cuz were getting better than they ever were and we hav time to get even better
I dont understand why they have anything to say about it at all.. It isnt there business and it isnt hurting them
Ok so they should have taxed it then thats not a problem. So that couldn't be the reason here plus as poker losses popularity there will be less taxable revenue anyways.
The hell with it,,, why do we want USA based sites anyway. As long as I can turn a profit playing off shore sites whatever, screw the dumb asses.
