I know there are several basic rules to follow for Texas Holdem but I do wonder what are YOUR top 3 BASIC rules for Holdem. :)
Not that I follow them, but:
1. People are not bluffing as often as you think they are.
2. Don't think about what hands you are ahead of, think of what hands you could be behind.
3. Don't raise with a hand that you are not prepared to call with if re raised.( this is cash games )
1. patience - waiting for good hands to play
2. position - playing in position always gives you an edge
3. maximize profits and minimize losses - value betting when you believe you're are ahead and dumping even good hand when you believe you are behind
1. Dont get yourself into bad spots post flop due to bad play preflop.
2. Just because they are betting doesnt mean they have a hand.
3. If it looks like Aces and smells like Aces then its probly Aces. (Note for #3 Aces is interchangable with flush, straight, set, trips, flush draw, straight draw, bluff......etc.)
check/call everything. dont pay any attention to what the other players are doing and make sure you make people as uncomfortable playing against you as possible
Espero que seja isto .
nah im kidding. 1) bet roughly 66 percent of the time so people dont know why you are betting or calling. pay attention to the other players betting patterns and chose your games wisely. you should always play in a game where you are one of the top two players on the table (cash game)
Spoken like a true nit.
Here are my rules
1. Don't play w/ money that you can not afford to lose
2. Don't play if you are not feeling well or feel you are not playing your best game
3. Don't play on short time.
If you notice the general theme? In 2 words.... DON'T PLAY
The necessary rules are a lot of concentration and a good bluff a good position.
1. Play for entire bankroll
2. Play 35% of hands
3. Be aggressive
Almost made list: Always all in 7/2
those are good rules cookies but they all generally fit under choose your games wisely.
BOINK???? ROFLMAO!!! thats too funny bro
Play good
no mistakes
Stay away frm tilt
good bankroll maangement should make the list too
bankroll management fits under chose your games wisely aswell
Strictly Cash Game Rules:
1.NEVER, EVER, for any reason, play more than 5% of your Bankroll in one session!!! Allow yourself a full rebuy.i.e. 2.5% buy in!
2.If you lose both buy-ins. You must leave the game!
3.Never think of it as money, only a tool, to reach your long and short term goals! (Emotional Seperation)
1 - wait for the right cards and good position
2 - don't "get married" to a hand
3 - accept that "bad beats" are part of the game and get over it
1. Play with money you're willing to put on the line.
2. Dont play if you even have a slight HINT of tilting
3. Move up to higher stakes only when your bankroll is ready to move up.
Never get bloffed tow times in a row with the same one:D
1) Keep control of all emotions, this includes excitement and frustration
2) Image and reality are not always the same
3) Don't play with what you cannot afford to lose
1 You can't be allout if you're not allin.
2 Tournament holdem is about small gains made steadily, and avoiding a big loss.
3 Ignore rules 1 and 2 if you're playing Jerseytime!!!!!!
1. He shoves, he has it
2. He calls, he has it
3. He checks, he has it
1 know how to manage your money if NL
2 know how to play your position most of us lose there
3 know your opponents
My basic rules are: peer payment, I go with cards higher than 10 and no reraises cuano foldeo
Nice concepts men, good luck in the tebles
Nice thread shesells.. Interesting input... I would add to vary your style so you cant be read by your habits.
For me: 1 - Patience ; 2 - Hands selection; 3 - position
There is only one rule for me, always knowing when to fold
People are not bluffing as often as you think they are.
Don't think about what hands you are ahead of, think of what hands you could be behind.
Don't raise with a hand that you are not prepared to call with if re raised.
first, a good concentration, second analyzes the gestures of your rivals, third play without fear
