I've found that HUDs are less useful to tourneys because your play changes radically depending on stack size, blinds, etc. etc.

I believe quite the opposite, HUDs can be very helpful, including blind changes n the such. Lets u know who u can steal from, who folds to 3-bets, how ur c-bets r gonna be acted upon, etc etc etc.
