I've never played on client before, and with the way people talk about it I'm not really sure I ever want to. Plus I never have an overly abundant surplus of points so when I have them I'd rather use them to enter a tourney rather than play on client

To be honest, the client can actually give you a great boost in points. Points can be used to converted to real carbon money. Thus the client can really help your bankroll. You just have to control yourself otherwise you could lose like 20k points...
