Add my voice to the movement for tougher penalties on defaulters. I don't think some here take the idea of a "loan" seriously.
I know that we dont have freerolls anymore on the poker sites but ive always thought if you borrow you shouldnt be allowed in client to begin with.. why does anyone need a loan to begin with? cause they are too lazy to work and get there points like the rest of us? cause they are "special"? its sr23 attitude that bothers everyone here. If your a good member here you wouldnt ever have to worry about being on wall of shame to begin with.. I havent seen any good members on wall of shame ever!! If the amount is so measly then why take out a loan to begin with? I never have 2 to 4 k here so why would anyone else need them kind of points just to take into client with anyways.
I hope if someone is in default they arent allowed to do redeems either, cause that would be wrong too.
There arent many good players here and the ones who think they are good seem to always have to use stakers LMFAO if they was good why would they need anyone elses money??? just dont make any sense.. while others grind and never ask for anything from anyone. A good player knows BRM and uses it..
Your a good dude and i normally enjoy your posts, but this whole post is pretty ignorant. People need point loans for the same reason they need car or home loans, they want to buy something or in this case redeem for something and they don't have enough points for it all at once. So they borrow it and earn it back a little at a time so they can repay it when it comes due. Also there are plenty of good members that have been on the wall of shame, in fact I would wager that nearly all of them have been on there at some point during their tenure here. The statement about players that need stakes is equally if not more ignorant. Just because a player is staked doesn't mean he is broke, or even that he needs the stake necessarily. Some of the most successful players in the world play exclusively on stakes, literally never risking a dime of their own money.
On your last part i agree with, you even hear of pros doing staking, but i guess my main point was Alot here are jhust degen gamblers and not poker players. If it going good between two people (staker and player) then its not all bad but you see so many wanting staked and doing nothing with it.. I have been staked live before and not cause i didnt have the money but cause they knew what kind of player i am and will cash if possible..
Im sry you think my post was ignorant. people needing loans on a house or cars is no where near the same as being too lazy to earn points here.. Plus when im buying a home or car im not taking that money(cause they dont give you the cash) and running to the casino or buying lottery tickets with either.. So my opinion stands that no one getting a loan should be able to play in client. to do a redeem i dunno but...
This is a crazy comparison, to buy a car or a home we are talking several thousands of dollars. There are also pretty good penalties for not paying on time, more fees, and if just don't pay it, like alot do, you will lose your home or car.
Alot of these defaults and loans are over $5. If you can't afford that for your hobby, you probably shouldn't be playing. There are no loans for other hobbies such as bowling, golf or any other hobby you would do irl.
I completely get once in a while someone might be in a bind, but there are others who rely on them to be able to play which is going about it the wrong way, they find themselves constantly in the hole.
i dont like being staked..i see and feel stakes as favors, and i simply dont like asking favors to other people....i like playing whatever it is with my own money, thats what u have a bankroll for, i agree with abwil that most on here are simply gambling degens, i was never staked neither asked a loan and i dont even get my points to play with surveys(cause they are rare for my country)..YES, thats correct, i buy all my points and even so it is profitable for me, but most on here dont have slightest respect for others' money, so why should they be respected?
as a regular loanee ill happily admit i take loans because i really cba to earn the points but i wanna play the games, the difference is that once i have that loan taken out i make it my top priority to pay it back
Ya obviously the amounts are apples and oranges but its still the same principle, someone wants to buy something but doesn't have enough points to do it all at once. So they borrow it for a set amount of time and work to earn enough to pay it back before it comes due. So while the amount may be different, the reasoning behind why they need a loan is still the same.
I dont understand why you guys think it is so different. People get loans for houses or cars because they don't have enough to buy it all at once. They work to pay the loan back over time. It's the same with a point loan. They borrow the points so they can buy what they want right away, and then do tasks, surveys to pay for it.
Losing chat time because a person didn't pay a debt, that's like a slap on the wrist.
when im inn default and i open up PO if I Go to chat its usually to see who has points to buy/ if its just few points to pay off them on on the offerwalls and not in chat anyway so eitherway dont bother me and Im a defaulter :-P
how the f is my attitude wrong??? I basically say i implement this rule on myself of a chat ban and hit the offerwalls till its paid off i think u misunderstood what i was saying.... i was admitting to be a chronic defaulter (not a lie) but i dont hang around in the chat while in default i hit the offer walls or try and buy points to pay off asap.... where did i ever say im in default and what??? i see the quotations
Wow, I just read this Whole thread...quite the argument, from both sides...I'd still like to see more forms of punishment on defaulterz, mainly no ticker.
just saying blocking communication from someone you would like to communicate with you is kinda shooting yourself in the foot
Well you need to read through the thread - the idea was not to block communication from everyone, as nowhere mentioned was a bubble or pm block. The idea is to punish people who are in default in terms of their abilities here - its not right for someone to be in default for weeks but continue to get marketplace loans, buy money with pts, etc. You don't need to be in main chat to settle a debt.
i do go innto default sometimes but most the time im good... but if i told you i make awesome brownies just some of the time i throw a little shit in there with them you probably wouldnt eat them so im in no way making excuses for fkd up behavior, but sometimes throwing stones at people when they are down wont help them get back up....
aww hell yeah...best idea yet jlynn...I'd rather throw stonez at dooshez
As Riv said you may want to read the thread in it's entirety. These enhancements are not about people like yourself who may go into default sometimes, nor about "throwing stones" at them. This thread is about other people whom turn around and thumb their noses at people they are in default too. These people are the ones who you see in chat all the time while in default whom upon getting asked when they might be settling up, they pick up boulders and throw them at the people whom loaned TO them.
Zab has promised in this thread some "changes" though it remains to be seen what those changes might be.
I'm in holding pattern at the moment......
but when you look at someone on wall of shame there is no differencec between an occasionally defaulter who is working on paying it back and a multi accounter who is working on more points for themselves.... so when someone says a person in default everyone even the people who are trying to get straight again would be effected... may different levels of negative feedback on defaults?
Did you miss this part?
Being in default and on the WOS is not the issue. It has been acknowledged in this thread a number of times that the vast majority of people in default are good citizens. The intent of this thread is to address those I refer to in my quoted passage above.
