luck or skill what weighs heavier?
luck obviuosly, but considering there is no such thing as luck in long term, skill should be the one.
Skill is Long term.
Luck is short term.
Skill plays a major part in poker and definitely out weighs the luck factor.
Well, that is a question for the ages but it seems like skill is more important than luck, because luck is a one time or just it happened kind of thing and one most of the time does not know how it happened and skill is learned over time and can be used again and again to try and better the chances of getting a good end result.
Easy answer! Online poker is 90% luck 10% skill. Real live games its pretty almost the opposite. Waay too many sukouts and bad beats online.
You are totally wrong felder the skills is higher than luck.
A beginner that don't know anything in Poker can't win much as a skill Poker player, tell me where you found that information that poker is a based of luck.
Poker is based of skills not luck
i agree with rollerrrr luck is short term and skill is long term.
i think if your playing online poker luck is better but in live game obviously it is skills to many donks call with stupid cards and get lucky in online poker it does not happen as often in a live game
Skills are definitely more important.
definitely skill, anybody can have bad beats, but in the long run skill beats luck
i was just curious which site would b best besides fulltilt? any suggestions :)
some will rarely win and play great, others donk and win easy, does anyone know what destiny holds
pokerstars is busy, so is partypoker
here,here. I concur
I think, in poker the chance plays a more important part
Skill is Long term.
Luck is short term.
trust in luck
Live or Online doesn't really much matter.
You can been against the worst player and easily lose.
I feel it a combo of both God know the only time a poker player prays is on the river :)
50% skill+40% Skill+10% skill
I would say skill. I just started playing and I can tell a huge difference in the way I play from when I first started to now.
without skill you wont get lucky all the time.online people take more chances depending on the type of game they are playing, freeroll etc.so im sure one would get luckier than one playing live or at higher stakes.definately more skill than luck.
you need a combination of both i think to hit the big money.
skill will always persevere over luck in the long run
bah ... everytime i start to believe there is skill in this game i get sucked out on ... lol
Skill, because skill made people fold. Luck, we need to hit something.
I think that poker takes a lot more knowledge than luck, but still with no luck you can not win and it is more important factor in poker. So with a lot of knowledge and of course a little luck can be and win some cash.
that is my opinion
:)
For 1 game Heads Up, you will see some luck.. But if a pro plays an amateur 100x's, the pro will beat him probably 80 times. So Id say 80% skill, 20% luck
I believe pretty much all luck. I could have the best hand and someone will beat me on the river. That really sucks!!!!!
It takes time to build the skill in poker. when you have that skill it will take you further than luck. Luck comes and goes for skill can only get better. :)
i rather play outplay them than come from behind and win a hand..luck... it just varies u never know how ull be running but if ur playing good it just hard to beat..
i would say skill(75 percent)...luck(25 percent)....
Skill is Long term if not why in the final tables are always familiar faces ?
luck obviuosly..... i think the good players, sayit the poker not ar a game 100% of lucky, but in a freeroll, whit so many donkies, doesnt matter if you have skills, every time some guy with A, gone a call u in every moment, lol
Depends on where you play. At online poker I say it's 50-50. If the software doesn't like you, you can be the best player in the world, you won't win anything:D But at live, it's definitly skill. Skill and patience. You have to wait for the good opportunuties to arise;)
is a matter of fate for me
luck is such a subjective term.....skill is definitely a big factor for success but we are playing a game where variance plays a major role......and sometimes when youre running good u can do no wrong and when its bad its really bad

vr2ualfelt could not have put it any better well done totally agree with this thread
luck plays more of a part online unless u have alot of skill to beat a computer :P
Skill in the long run but it's all a odds game so luck is highly desired
