In the evenings I will definitely have a drink at the NL tables to take the edge off, but just one. When I retire from playing for the evening I will then bring all of my cash (provided I have some) to the room and take a set amount down (probably $20 bucks unless I've done particularly well.) I'll more than likely sit at a nickel poker machine with high cocktail waitress traffic, smoke cigarettes, and drink until I retire. If I have done quite well I may take $60 down and put $40 in a slot machine with 20-25c spins (it never hurts to have some slot use showing on your card). If I were to do extremely well (over 2k profit) I may take $120 down and put a hundred on a table game. Either way, what I take down will be my money for the evening with my last 3 bucks going to the waitress who brings me a double neat to take up to the bathtub. And, I won't be playing poker or touching any more of my money (with the exception of if I get hungry) until I have slept.
I might add, with every expectation of going back to my room with an empty pocket and a drink in my hand.

How hard is it to make money playing live at casinos? I have never played live besides home games but they are more of a social gathering then for money. Also good luck and try to stay strict on your drinking policy to max out your poker profits.

have fun, just remember that live is usually not standard and you will need to adapt to the players you're at the table with

^^^Depends on the table, but I don't ever feel the need to prove myself. If the table is tough for any reason (too many good players, or even too many bad players with a lot of chips creating too much variance for my limited roll) I have no problem unASSing my chair.
    And Ty, I will.

    ^^Ty, that is sound advice.

^I'm sure I'll enjoy myself even if I go bust on the first night (which I won't let that happen). My brother lives in CT and really likes Foxwood

In general, live poker at casinos is MUCH easier than online poker at comparable stakes and lower. Live B&M cardrooms generally draw looser gamblers and those there "for fun". Online poker, especially in the US draws more grinders, especially with its poor accessability.

In addition, live cardrooms start at much higher stakes. For example, the lowest NLHE ring values are typically 1/2, $200 stack in a casino. However, in the online realm, this is often the 6th stake level.

This is all pretty accurate in my opinion.
