Hurricane Irene
I was wondering if there are any members here who live in or around the east coast. I live in Wilmington NC and we are monitoring this huge hurricane. It's looking like we are in for the rough ride come this saturday. I have been through some big ones like Floyd Bertha, Fran. The only difference is that my family and I just finished building our first home last month and don't want to have to do repair not even 2 months living in it :(
If there are any other members that will be affected let us know so we can send out prayers.
-
I am on Cape Cod in Mass. We are not worried yet as anything can happen in a few days, we usually start sweating it once they hit about where you are, then we start prepping, getting beer and stuff, lol.
We will know more by late Friday early Saturday which course is most likely. They did mention yesterday if it were to come up that it would probably slow a bit over the waters by NY just under us, so we may be spared even if it does come straight up.
Stay safe and I hope your home stays safe as well.
-
hope u all are OK and ur new home is ok too drywall..:) i,m in calif, but my mom still lives in NJ,, and so i,m hopin it diesnt turn out to be tooo bad either.altho on the news last nite,, it looked to be a huge size storm, in area, it was covering tho,,, but that change in day or 2 too, so maybe all will be ok..

Bad part is I have a tidal river 2 block from my house. I am more worried about that river rising more than I am about the wind.

Those of us here in Joplin, MO remain empathetic for the people effected by Hurricane Irene. I've known several people from Vermont, and when I see the pictures of the flooding there it really gets to me. It's such a beautiful part of the country.
-
I live in Florence, SC and the Hurricane had no effect on us. The hurricane was not that powerful, but it cause alot of damage in the up north states
-
I know this junky name hurricane irene... She will fuck anything up for a rock...

Hurricane Irene seemed like a big dud to me i know the northeast got hammered but in terms of major hurricanes they got off easy just asked the victims of Andrew and Katrina whose victims are still feeling the effects
