Stealing (well kind of) from a thread below me, but making it more specific of a question, is there ever a case where you'd fold AA preflop?
only when u think u should......say if u think the other guy has aces and he might hit the flush on u.......yea thats a definite foldaroni
never pre flop
only if flop is suited and not either of your a are that suit
I would have to say I would never fold AA pre flop. After the flop different story.
Preflop... um....Don't think so.
So one spot from the money, deep in a big tournament with 2 bbs and a button, you'd play it? I mean there must be *some* time.
In satellites near the bubble I will consider it...
satt.,turny or cash game if your setting there with pocket aces and 5 or 6 of the players go allin, your better off to dump them.you can bet your azz somebody is gonna outdraw them aces.ive seen the whole dam table go allin before, not very often, but it happens.
In a satellite where i am on track to qualify into whatever mtt it is and i get dealt them and if i was to loose the hand to this person i would be out i just fold. Also i just fold all hands on the bubble of a satellite if i am in a commanding position because there is no value in winning extra chips everyone gets the same thing. MTTs and Cash games i will never fold AAs preflop ever. Postflop i will and have plenty of times when you have me beat, but when you don't i will call every single time. Im the type of player who will call you down with Ace high when your bluffing and will fold the 2nd nuts when you have it. They don't call me the next Phil ivey for no reason. Also, i am only bluffing when you fold, and when you call i always have a hand better than yours.
I see a lots of times, the player who was AA don't folded, so what's happen ?
sometimes, the first thinks it's make all in but probably with that move I'll receive low chips... so, what happens, a few times, is that I bet to oders players call to win chips... but we have to see that AA isn't a hand 100%winner.
But, know to coment this poste, why we folded hands pre-flop? on my point of view, just for two reasons. or we had a bad hand Or the bet before us was so big that we think that we don't have a good hand to lost chips...
so, AA pre-flop I think that i'm case of needed do it, just when is "bubble time". becouse, pre-flop another player just can have a good hand like ours if they have the other AA that we have ... lol
You know AAs is an underdog against 8 people.
Never preflop unless if it is maybe a big satelite and around bubble time, other than that, never.
Have done it in the past, will do it in the future. First hand of a 25k guaranteed, 4 people shove before me, I fold, would of had 3rd best hand after river. Wound up cashing.
I have never done it in a live game but I have done it online when I was near bubbling in a tourney or double up sit n go...def a set up
I just disagree with this thread. It's rather interesting to me. Survival is usually first on my mind in tournaments.
If you need to ask this question,, then you may want to pursue golf.
preflop you cant be behind so why would you fold?
I have folded AA's preflop when there was a huge BB and when short stacked with a few others and on the bubble for ITM...
makes sense sometimes especially if your spidey senses are tingling for a "fold and wait"
who does that??? i dont think that i am capable of a play like that. for me AA is a hand to play every single time...
dont think folding aces preflop is i good idea but you do what works for you..:)
prefolp just if it is A7 or lower!!! sometime going all-in is a nice solution for this problem, only few player will call you
Some players do this and it is just ignorant! If I lose with AA after going all in preflop, I feel a lot better than I would have folding!
Im never folding Aces preflop..... unless its that super rare instance.....
have you ever seen the high stakes game, where the player folds AA preflop and its a super good fold... the guy flops quads.. and he would of have to pay him off if he played.
i could never not go allin pre flop withaa in my hand that would just be stupid, unless im at a final table and the game is at stake then i'd just call or check to see the flop
never preflop. Unless I would have a deal with someone that I will fold the next hand preflop whatever the hole cards are.
Slowplayin could get into trouble. Someone with a pair and hitting trips could be trouble. But AA does'nt come along too often, bet away. I have folded AA few times on gut instinct, and usually am right. Unless there is no showdown, then who knows.
yes.. AA isn't 100% win. and that's like dimebags7 says... what makes us bet almost the times it's our instint. sometimes we call with low hands and sometimes we had lucky. it's the powerfull of poker :D
never never never xD i lost more more, but fold never
yes i know
If surving is on your mind in tournaments you will never be a winning a tournament.
In a satellite on the bubble where are qualifiers get the same prize, especially when one or more players are already all-in. Hell yes.
