I limp some hands myself...but I know it to be wrong...you should no limp...if the hand is worth playing it should be worth a min raise...
id rather limp with aces then go all in and get no calls
depends on if you are going to have anyone else raise it for you. Online people are usually playing too many tables to notice any betting habits over a short period of time. I dont feel like you have to switch it up to hide strength.
There really are not very many absolute in poker. I think raising is optimal in most cases, but there are definitely instances where deviating from the standard line is optimal. Being able to articulate why you made a play, or why you think an opponent made a play is crucial. I think way to many people just mindlessly click buttons, and really don't stop to think what are they trying to convey/accomplish.
Normally the answer is no, which in my opinion is why you should sometimes do it.
yes its okay to limp!! but i hate it also, u have to worry about the raisers after u. i prefer not to limp unless im setting a trap!! i have noticed alot of limping in these tourneys! probably safe to do here, because lots of players dont respect the raise anyway and call with j2, 38 etc!!
LIMPERS ARE FCKN GARBAGE. but donkey limpers that call anything after i raise, I love them... yummy fish
ofcourse. for example if you want to set mine.
I'm down with limping with KK/AA under the gun hoping to re-pop. Only problem is if no one raises, you gotta prepared to fold it with heavy action.
I never limp, just a big sign of weakness iMO
Of it is ok to limp, you got to varied your play sometimes to trap
Never limp unless you have a small pocket pair and your in late position. In this case I think it is ok to call and try to hit trips. One of the most common misplayed hands is aa when people limp into the pot and allow others to see the flop.
Limping is a long lost art form it seems these days. A lot of these kids feel the need to push everything and hope for the best. Def. limp when necessary!!! There is nothing wrong with actually seeing a flop before making big moves....LOL
There are times when limping is perfectly fine depending on your hand and your position.
I guarantee that most of the players in this thread that said it is ok to limp are losing poker players. You want to isolate opponents when you have a big hand, not let them see a cheap flop.
limping can be a key tool you can use in your over all strategy.
What you are basically saying by limping is "I just want to see the flop cheaply and either hit or miss"
With that said, you can reverse that like many pros do. The might limp with AA to show weakness.
Just a thought.

I think it's great to limp in PLO :)
This is the one video I could find on youtube that showed someone limping with aa and as you can see it did not turn out well for him. That means AA in action This is a stupid shit! Fukin 'poker game fold ever - YouTube
Credsfan is a good player. Listen up ppl!
you can try, but my pots always get a raise
Limping with AA is never good but in a micro shove fest it works wonders. If every other hand somebody is jamming with 10 5 off, obviously it's a good play. I also think it's ok to limp in early position with suited connectors or a low PP, especially in the game formats of todays crappy online poker world. There is virtually no room for error in 50% of the games because of tubro blinds, starting stacks etc. It's worth it to limp 22 early to me, rather then raising. If you raise, Are you going to call a reraise for a third of your stack to hope to hit a 2? With the 76 suited 33 etc in early position it is fine to limp. If the game you're in has a nice starting stack or blind structure or you chip up well in the game you should always raise any hand you play. I'm not sure if you're talking about cheap online games or what. If youre talking $1 buy ins or $100 buy ins it makes a huge difference too.
One of the times I somewhat question this is when I'm playing, say, FUNSTEP1 or the $50 freeroll or something equally loose. The purpose of raising is to buy yourself position, build the pot size when you have a good hand, etc.
BUT. When the guy next to you is going to call you down regardless of your bet size, what have you accomplished with your raise? There are still 4 other callers, you're still in bad position. There's a big pot, but there's no way your high PP is going to hold up against 4 maniacs. A limp or min raise would have accomplished exactly the same thing while not exposing yourself to as much risk.
I guess the real way to answer the question is...what are you trying to accomplish with your limp? If you can come up with a cogent explanation, maybe it's not a bad play. If you're really having to think that hard about whether or not it's a good play, you should prob just fold, tho.
its always ok to limp, nomatter what to cards you hold, that's how u trap players
limp If yo uwant. players will say at the tables, oh u will not limp while I am here or some bullshit. well, that is when u play your limps smart and fuck the shit out of them for talking smack to ya give ya somef uckng respect fucking cutns. fuck you and your rules settings, there are no rules mother fucker, tell me I cant limp fuck you. get the fuck outta here bish.
i love to limp strong pocket pairs or suited face cards when there is a really loose player to my left so i can reraise him. I always raise on AA tho. I also see no problem with limping if you are in good position with decent cards, especially if they are suited
If your peg leg is too short Im OK with you limping.
always ok to limp, no matter what.. best way to trap
thought u said that already on pages 1-3 lol guess just in case they missed it. go all in fuck limping. who cares. limp with a shitty hand not a good one.
always ok to limp, just make sure you hit
I will never limp if everyone has folded in front of me. I will at least give it a min. raise.
LOL POKEYOURFACE, too funny yummmmy fishesss
I'll limp if a bunch of other players have already limped. I'll rarely limp when I'm first to act, but there are a few situations in which I do.
is it ever ok to limp? I think limping can be ok sometimes? Any thoughts?
Its ok to limp when you have a sore foot/leg but otherwise no, you look like a hypocondriact
I only limp with crappy hands, in late position, sometimes. However if i have a good hand there's no point in letting the donks suck oout on you, raise it up!
I only limp when my leg hurts
