Bob Dole.. where has he been?
Bob Dole went to the North Pole
He was lookng for santa but he don't live there no more
so he started looking for women, of with which he planned to score
but all he found was penguins, and even those to him they would ignore
edit: i thought the pot above me was the OP lol oops o ill put in my 2 cents...
I think when people say GG, they actually mean it, and they aren't trying to be rude even if it is near the bubble. Unless that person only says gg on the bubble then they are probably being genuine.
And OP: what did you mean you dont stick around to see if your out? Do you leave the table once you go all in or something lol?
that was a pikeboy thread on bob dole... many replies.. it ran for at least 6 mos.... the pt on leavin, if I lose I'm out I move on, next table plz
If I get sucked out on or don't make the money, then I dont want to hear people say gg. Seems like a needle even though it might not be. I only say gg when itm and ft.
I do it out of politeness. Can't help it, it's in my nature. Even if it is on the bubble, just know it's it's not to be a bitch. Whether it's appropriate or not, not totally sure.
If it's not appropriate, I'll keep my fat mouth shut.
i say GG sometimes. but sometimes times i just laugh
yea people just say it out of kindness!!!
I try to more than not, just how I was raised.
I try to reserve my GG comments for if I know the person or if we have been playing in a tourney for hours. That's about the only times I try to say good game.
I do it to keep the donkey's thinking UTG for 5x with Jack-rag suited is a good play, lol
This topic to me is in the middle. I like to act proper and like a gentleman while playing poker. Does saying GG when someone loses considered friendly or is it taken as a jab that they just lost?
I always thought the former but someone at a table said that was a 'tasteless move'.
Opinions,
Patrick
i only say gg as an insult, very few times its to a "friend" and i mean it
Yeah im with you on that one. haha
This same question was just posted a few days ago
you can be a jerk about it or friendly.. depends on how the person takes it
I say it all the time and I never mean it to sound mean....when I want to sound mean I put "lmao" when I take someone out....guess its a matter of opinion and hope nobody here at po thinks I am mean when I say gg lol
One of the dumbest comments that can be made, and considering the source of the above answer you can see why. The best thing anyone can do when they win a hand is just STFU. It's people like PokeYourFace who make any comments annoying. The sad truth is he thinks it's funny.
It' can be taken out of context easily I only say it if they truly played a good game for a stretch not to everyone
Its salt in the wound when someone screws you in a hand and he or another person at the tables gives the classic "gg". I never say anything but I'm thinking "Who the F$%k wants to here gg after they just got A. Busted and B. Screwed." Just sayn.
I never use the chat function period ( Unless I know the players at the table with me ) GG feels almost insulting when you get knocked out early on...
I just see it as someone being friendly- usually that's all it really is. Sometimes when I get knocked out I will be the one that says gg gl- it depends on how I feel I guess- but I dont think its a big deal whether you say it or not really, especially online- some people may not even be looking at chat, and some people may even have chat off- so online its a bit different from live I think--
Like I said on the other thread, i have seen it a lot and i always say it out of politeness, it can be taken any way you want
really.
i play hu most of the time, and using gg at the end its pretty much always to induce tilt (unless it has been an entertaining match, and you have been chatting with villain, whihc is like never), the classic is:
gg
ty
totally depends on the individual involved.
saying gg is just the polite thing to do!
my last comment on this thread.. It's a three prong comment... Sayin to friend or opponent you know well is ok, someone you dont know is polite if they played well, or sayin it to a player you dont like is not nice... If I dont know them and they played well, I note it, no comment yet
If it's not appropriate, I'll keep my fat mouth shut.Thanx Momma.. but what does polite have to do with playin for money and wanting to take other peoples chips.. thank
