I know there are a lot of issues with spamming and such because of the free 5 points per post. I'm wondering if maybe awarding points as a login bonus each day either instead or in addition would be a better idea? Maybe the first day you login, you get 2 or 3 points, the next next day you get 5 points, the next day, 10 points, 15, up to maybe 20 or 25 points a day. If you miss a day, you have to start over. If done right, this could also help increase the amount of new members who have to difficulty earning points, to keep trying.

I do not know how many people login to the site each day or how many times they post on average, but I'm guessing this couldn't cost too much more than the amount given out in posts.
