Large Anti-Scam Upgrade

Still a work in progress, but this is what I have so far..

Marketplace Anti- Scam Upgrade
? All trades to be posted using a new form (Which will be posted in the Marketplace new upgrade area)
? Form will include: Other party trading with, terms, how each party intends to get paid, length of payment
? When you submit the form, both parties MUST view the form and click ?I Accept?
? From the form, you will be able to see all the background information on each user. This will give new users a chance to see who they are dealing with.
? You will have the option to verify yourself (Phone Verification which is free or the ID verification which will cost 1000-1500 points). The idea is, if you are trading with someone, you might force them to get verified first.
? You will be able to leave ?Outside the marketplace? feedback on people
? If there?s any issues with you (Scamming or anything), you will lose your ability to use this form, loan shark, marketplace, poker client, all promotions until you repay your debt. Any new or old accounts associated with a ?tainted account? will be under the same punishment. (Mods will be able to send these users to this new account status

The issues I have is, how do we get this message out to new users when trading to use this form (new method).

you should make this all mandatory. once a user clicks to use loanshark or marketplace this form should pop up. if any user wants to use our features they should be verified

mandatory in market, not really required for shark, there is enough protection in there and im not going to pay 1,500 points to take out a 200 point loan...if i ever wish to trade ill varify myself but i doubt ill be in a position to do that any time soon since most of the funds i have are on merge

Zab your ALWAYS trying !! I think the new form is a great idea .. because it's a " Contract " .. Both users must read and sign !!!

BTW .. please transfer/update those members that are already verified to this upgrade ..

the verification on this form is different to the process already in place, so i doubt that updating the list for those members that are currently varied is pointless

make the phone verification mandatory as soon as a user makes an account. pop up something like once account is made you will be required to verify yourself via telephone verification, then if they want to use the marketplace users must verify themselves via id verification. MANDATORY for all whom want to use the marketplace areas.

as far assomeone just popping in chat thats the hardest place to stop them. really like the idea of ppl must add poker site names once as soon as they join. if involved in any scam we will contact the poker sites and have them banned

I tend to agree with this is general.

Also I am getting the impression that Tommy likes the idea of ppl adding their poker site names, but I could be mistaken.

It is easy enough to make it mandatory in market or loanshark, but to Zabs point, when the trades are outside the system all together, there is no way for that to pop up.

Can you make it so that the first X times they log in after registering, there is a pop-up that says "READ THIS READ THIS READ THIS" telling them about the proper way to manage trades/loans/etc? I know there will be some who just click through it but if you make it blatant enough you can catch the majority and then those who don't care ... meh, they make their own bed.
Maybe also include in those instructions that they should report anyone who is trying to finagle a trade without using the form?

I'm sorry but when does common sense come into play here?

As far as I am concerned, if you go thru the process of being phone verified at sign-up, you are then pretty much aware that this site is offering services (like this form) to protect you. If you are still stupid enough to trade OUTSIDE the sites mandated trading services, and you happen to get burned, well that is your problem. If this should happen, take it up with the sites you traded thru (poker sites, paypal, amazon, whatever).

The question then shifts to "how to we get EXISTING members to start using this form?". My answer, a BIG ASS MESSAGE when you log in everydamn day where you click to agree to the site TOS. At that point, once again, if you get burned off site, keep it off-site.

Here are my thoughts on the scamming issue. Most of the accused scamming going on recently are just people that aren't going through the systems already in place. If someone has the option of going through the system in place and doesn't, just ignore them. It's their own fault.

1. For those that are circumventing the system, some are noobs that skipped over the Beginners Guide. Can you do an upgrade where for the first month someone is a member they have a big, obnoxious banner that links to the guide. That way whenever they have questions they have a hard time ignoring the link to the information.

2. Some kind of middle man upgrade would be useful for whenever someone does a trade that doesn't involve points. I'm fortunate enough to have the points to just do 2 separate trades whenever I've done this.

3. It may be helpful to break the Marketplace thread into 3 separate sections: Marketplace Trades, Staking, and Trade Issues/Scamming.

4. Any new users have to be phone verified before they can use the marketplace. If someone has known issues, they have to pay for an id verification as well before they can use the marketplace again.
-Oh and if some of the older members get verified, can we get start to clear up some of this multi-accounter confusion. There are quite a few actual honest members that have accounts tied to us that just aren't accurate.

up top you have 2 options to go to the forums, take out the "Green Visit Forums" box and replace with the new idea since you have the other box that says "Forums next to Home and Promotions"...........

my system is easy. never trade with a scammer that had scam before. Look for acitve member to trade with and never trade with newbies. Boom. havent got scam so far by my system yet.

2) I've thought about it, but will have to be part 2
3) Not sure how that would work \ look
4) Phone verified will work for the marketplace trades, the issue is the bubble chat trades

No, this system works flawlessly already (As long as you don't release points early, if you do... thats on you.. there are numerous warnings)

This isn't about loan shark.. That system works well and it keeps the economy alive and active

Agreed - the user trading funds can see the points are escrowed, so there is NO reason to release first.
