Ok, for the ticker, I prefer s810s version. You pay for say 15 min of time where your add will cycle through along with whoever else has bought ad time. I don't think a 1 min ticker will help much because it's too short. People won't see it because they were playing a hand in a tourney, decided to go check a thread someone just created, grabbed some food, or take a piss. Charge something like 5 points for 15 min, but give the user the option to have the ad run for as long as they want up to 24 hours.
