Since we can't read players through there body language when playing online poker, what other methods can one use when trying to read online players?
betting patterns, time taken when strong/weak, if slow plays strong hands, if huge overbet when bluffing...... the list goes on
by there avatar.
do you guys take a lot of notes? I know i have taken some in Pokerstars on the ppl in the PO tourneys, but the notes are no longer there..
hmm yeah i had the same thing, its like it doesnt save, just for each tourney make new ones
You can pretty much only read an online player from their betting patterns and how they bet when certain cards come out.
Watch their betting patterns, whether or not they are betting oddly compared to what they've been betting. Are they calling/raising immediately or if they're letting some time pass, how are they betting relative to their position on the table. The biggest thing for me would be comparing their average play to the current hand.
lmao.. i gave up trying to read online players after i started playing freerolls
bet size, the most powerful tell for You :D
if playing in freerolls, you may not be able to learn a ton, but just betting patterns, sizing, time etc
take notes and pay attention to quick bets/raises.
i have a couple but why tell everyone.........
time to act/bet amount/pattern/amount of hands played/your instinct there are lots of ways to get a slight read but online there are alot more variables, as far as freerolls 90% of this goes out the window(study bingo and coin flip odds) but if u get up into some higher stakes where the level of play is greater then the main thing id say would be pay attention to there bet patterns, one thing is if they arent in alot of hands, chances are if they bet/call/raise they got a decent hand. of course this is only my opinion which will be different from other players
probing your table is the best way. analyze the playing style and never all in!
i always trying to read players, but i cant im too weak :(
pretty much the only way to read is betting patterns when cards come out.
wow for sure it\'s more like bingo poker on the free games.
Just betting patterns. I would say dont pay attention to timing and how long a player takes but sometimes this could be a read on some weak players that are trying to force a check/bet.
i don\'t know how to read them live more if it\'s online lol
creo q se me hace dificil algunas veces leer los jugadores, no se porque pero creo q a la final siempre hago un buen juego ,,,,,,ty:cool:
you can add 10dollars to your account and just play :D
hard to know what they are thinking in freerolls
You can read players by their bets and raises. It seems that some players show certain betting patterns.
You can also know who bluffs and who don't.
To write notes. Over time, they become a lot and start to play with other people to whom you have information like who is playing. Here on these observations and the need to navigate. Naschchet long or little thought, this is purely a formality, supposedly they think))).
I think it is hard sometimes to read someone, sometimes they are crazy, sometimes not
In freerolls it is hard to read players. They just play crazy. Higher stakes I agree with a lot the info I have read on this thread.
betting patters are the way i red other players online really the only way to read them it just sucks when u get a playere who goes allin every hand
It is fairly easy to read someone after playing numerous games with them. You get to notice their habits. But new players take a little longer, and you have to take the time to again learn their habits.
It's funny how it evolves in the Carbon tournaments. You start seeing the same people over and over again.
it is not easy ,,,,,,you have to be some kind of genious to do that ,,,,,,,,,,jeje:cool:
the time they need to make a bet could also be indicative
the games are the same people most of the time
you can search for results.
the time he/she needs.
how much bets.
chat.
a lot of things. depends of the player
There are many ways of reading a player both online and in real life.
I think by just the amount of time they take. And how they usually bet and stuff.
