if i flop a flush draw is it a good idea to shove all in before the river?
no lol. well that depends on the situation, who your playing against, what the board looks like, stack sizes etc. personally i wont ship on a draw unless i have a decent pair too. but hey, i'm no pro.
Even if you have the nut draw, this is a very loaded question as it has too many variables to list. Bottom line...do you feel lucky?
There is way more too this question than this. Typically tho, you wouldn't want to flip for your tournament. The thing is, you'll win it a lot with a bet straight up too. And sometimes that's worth it. 140 chips into a 280 chip pot is worth it if you'd pick up the pot more than half the time for example (at least deep stacked). Try to think about things in terms of survival and chip accumulation, rather than a general one right answer.
probally not before the river, you might want to see all the cards before getting all in. exspecailly on a megre site
I am going to defer to lilg on this one.
You think its ever a good idea to go all in with out a made hand???
need mo info!
A flush draw on the flop is ~40% win for you. Shoving anything prematurely is bad... build the pot up if you hit before going allin
k well i just started playing so all the info is great thanks guys
Your chance to win the pot with a flush draw is roughly around 30% not 40%!! see you have 13 cards in one color, so if you have a flush draw on the flop you have 9 cards left in the deck. (if you can tell no one else has a flush draw too)
So anyway always remember that after the flop count your outs and multiply then by 4.. so you got 9*4=36%. after the turn it is only 9*2=18%. So if you hope to get a flush on the river you roughly have 18% chance.
If you want to base your desicion on the odds you need to check this out. The odds are 4 to 1 for a flush on the river. so if the pot is 1000$ and you have 250$ left on your account, you got your odds right by calling an all in.
in conclusion mathematically you can call an allin with odds 4:1,
I wouldnt go all in unless i was sue that a) i had the nut flush b) a boat c)quads
It depends on a lot of things. But if it's early in the tournament, and everyone's deep, I don't think it's a good idea to push all in.
these guys all have their oppinions, wide variety of ways to play
