Pin the tail on Donkey

This may be a silly question , but how does the Pin the tail on Donkey work? I see where i've gotten points for it, but I have no idea of how i got them.

Go to the bottom right of the creen and click on pin the tail. Then click on FAQ. it will tell you how it works.
