Bluffing vs Donking

Everyday we find and read posts about donks and how they can be find everywhere... we hear all this comments and sometimes say it, especially when we/they lose the hand.

Then sometimes we find during the games players that brag about how good they bluffed someone... with a 27 hand... and some other players will congratulate him on the bluff

That same players is called or re-raised... the hand goes on and he catches a game and wins the hand in the river... it wasnt a bluff as he was called... but now... he is instantly turned from a good bluffer into a donk... "why do you play a 27 - Donk!"

So... whats the difference between a Donk and a constinous Bluffer?

Such a simple answer. A donk clicks call. A bluffer clicks raise.

i donk bets with nothing a bluffer usally has outs thats my opinion

A donk to me is someone that calls any raise/shove or chases crazy hands like hoping to hit an ace. Bluffing is done with the intention to win the pot with nothing. I see a big difference.

Actually this is the difference between semi-bluffing and cold-bluffing. It is always better to bluff with any equity than without equity. I dont think cold bluffing makes you a donk though, it is a move that should be used very seldomly in the right situations.

donks do not think, bluffers think. all a donk can see is their two cards and not think about what opponent has. bluffers make stategic bluffs based on situations

I think there are a couple of good answers here but i failed when i tried multi message quoting LOL

Definately a lot of good answers. Biggest thing for me is timing. Donks don't have timing. They just do it to do it.

I see a great difference with bluffing and donking. Usually when you're donking, you chase mad draws without knowing the pot odds. As for a bluffer, he has a pretty good read on what the other person has. He's thinking that MAYBE he can get the other guy off his mid pair, pocket pair, etc... Bluffers know when to hit the "fold button".

Donks are just playing, Bluffers are playing the player.

is a thin limit between them i would say

a donk will call you whit nothing in hand or a bad hand... a bluffer will try to raise you.. to make you fold whit nothing in hand

youre not bluffing if you call a bet with nothing

bluffers are aware of their situation. they know how to play their position, factoring in players left, styles , stack size,pot odds and timing.
donks take the atc (any two cards) theory and blow it out of proportion. They often show signs of unnatural betting and playing. they tend to rush the game. going all in several times withinin minutes with notihing. anyway whatever

A donk does not know how to play poker while somebody that is good at bluffing has a good understanding of bet sizing and the type of player they are up against.

As stated before I think the difference is the thought process involved

well donking n bluffing is similar but if u r big bluffer eventually all playr on table wud read this and catch u red handed with bad card then u r expose for all and wud b attack freqeuently on table frm all other playr like how all shark wud attack u in water .

If you define little bit more about Donking and Bluffing similarity then it ll be great. Because as per my knowledge which is not so much donking is call the raise PF and bet on the flop from SB or BB. if you explain it more ll be very nice...Thanks

donking is just playing ATC tryna catch sumtin or anything.

Ur not totally wrong in what ur thinkin donking is tho, what ur thinking of is donk-betting(betting out of position when ur not the aggressor in the hand, it doesnt hafta be one of the blinds tho.)

Dont sell urself short, id be willing to bet that a good many people on this site wouldnt know what donk-betting is.

Its all the same to some people, you beat some on this site and no matter what you have your a donk

how do you classify the player that goes all in, all the time when they have an enormous chip holding?

i think there is a thin line, and it has less todo with what you DO then what you UNDERSTAND. if you have a good read on the situation, you are most probably bluffing, if you are just firing shoots in the dark, you are most probably donking. but we are all gad you do so ;)
