lil bit more money to suckout of the table with a limp.
6 handed tables will play more hands per hour, compared to 9. 6 handed usually gets more stable players, that don't 'hit-and-run'. you can observe 6 easier than 9 also, giving you a quicker 'read' of the table.
no different but i like the number 69. think i'll try it tonight.
different types of people playing different ways... i have found my game vtag does not do well on the 6 man table with a lot of prefloop rasing, but i can hold my own a little easier in the 9man.
i like 9, if you fold alot early there is some room for you to sit out the heaters
More people will call with rags.
6 handed games will play faster obviously since there are less people. The hand ranges will be much wider in 6 compared to 9 handed. There will be more blind stealing. Players will raise UTG more often with weaker holdings. Table dynamics can change rapidly with less people.
Huge difference. Opening ranges. Much more 3 betting. Position is even more important because the likelyhood of big hands are much less..............................
It seems like 6s come in all the time. anyone else noticed this.
:Dnot call 6
the nine player tables are better for learning imo as you can stick to the book a bit more with the starting hand values.
Offcourse there is a big difference - I better like to play 6-max at cash games but 9players at tournaments. 6-max easyer to steal blinds.
6-max is more of a position based game with more blind stealing and less relevance on opening hands, as ranges are much wider. Implied odds hands often can invest more because reverse implied odds hands (KQ, QJ, AJ) where you either win a small pot or lose a big pot type hands are more likely to continue. Also, isolating weaker players becomes a bigger deal.
9-max has less opening ranges and less emphasis on blind stealing. While position is still important, being out of position often still has some post-flop playability assuming the cards and opponent put you in the right spot.
Different about sizing, positions, bubble play, agresivity...
with 9 players there is a bigger possibility that someone on the table will have good cards, so you have to be more careful. With 6 players you have to be more loose and go in more hands because of the less players. In my opinion that's it.
Now, if 6 turned up to be 9,
I don't mind, I don't mind.
If all the hippies cut off their hair,
I don't care, I don't care.
