1. player notes: people who play on those are either bingo players trying to luckbox, or consistently playing several tables all the time. Study your opponent.
2. Work on hand range: unless you know opponent well, you all in/fold most of the game anyways, know which hands to play and in what position, about only time you call is checking as a big blind lol
3. No fear: you will bust, ALOT. Trust your gut and dont be afraid to call with a strong hand, if the hand is overall winner % aipf, unless you double early the game is a struggle the whole time, be ready to gamble.
All i can think of atm, may come back to this if i think of more
Hyperturbos are pretty tough. Looking forward to see what others can let me know. Position is pretty important.
In Hyper-turbos, you generally have to employ and all in or fold strategy. You have to be ready to play position and shove light or else the blinds and antes will get too high.
I pretty much just play super tight and when I get cards I shove all in. I don't really think there is much more strategy you can have unless the table is tight or you win up a little
Play solid short stack strategy. If you build a decent stack you might be able to do a little more, but since you usually start at 10bb, it should be all in or fold unless you've already doubled/tripled up.
hyper turbos are good practice for late game short stack play.
its definitely luck. but if you have a great hand, you better go all in because youll lose more often than not when seeing the flop
Ah, good... I was afraid we might go a whole week without someone posting this question in a brand new thread. OP saved us from that travesty of omission
OK, I played hundreds of these on Pstars before black friday. Won once, final tabled at least a dozen times - net profit ( a few bucks). The short-stack strategy is a great foundation for strategy but I'll add that I would usually end up all in with any hand against the whole table early on in the tournament (having about 4 or 5 hands before your blinded out). Once you get past this "bingo" part of the tournament its all about protecting your stack and attacking the other good sized stacks when its their blinds. If you have 10BB, get dealt AA and three players with similar stacks move all-in before your action - FOLD (the "bingo" period is over, let the donks stay behind) You're better off trying to steal the blinds with 23off when the action folds to you. Again like most other responses, a vast majority of the tournament will be All-In or Fold. Against 990 players, you will absolutely need luck and patience to do well.
Thhis IS EXACTLY what i was thinking...........
ask nughuffer.. he was trying to give me lessons the other day. he would know
Hyper turbos remind me of the days of RUSH poker sort of:) They beatings are dealt quickly with only a slight sting...LOL I always like to just get aggressive from the start and hope for a little luck!
i tried them for a while...the variance is high...so its easier to have a upswing or a downswing for that matter. Bankroll management is probably the most important thing, even more so than skill if you want to succeed at these.
my advice is don't be a donk in any tourney if you expect to win a high percentage of the time
Find the best hand u can get go all in lol Na just feel your way through it but dont blind yourself out
its mostly luck i would check out sit amd go plamet . com they will have a good strategy article for you
i personally dont play them because i havent figured out a strategy but a friend of mine plays all in or fold but pretty tight and has been pretty successful
understand ICM and shove calling ranges
all in with any pair or ace, patience to a point. sometimes it might be two high cards or even suited connectors.
there is no strategy!! Shove with ay ace or any pair!!
oh I forgot the Most Important part to winning Hyper Turbos!!! PRAY!!!
