Do people overplay AA too much and go bust? I'm just wondering what people think about pocket aces. I usually lose with AA on Carbon and it is a tough hand to fold post flop but sometimes you just have to know when to hold em' and when to fold em'.

If I had a penny for everytime I see Aces get cracked I would almost have enough for a WSOP Main event Buy-In ($10k).... No, I am not being sarcastic... seriously.
On pokerstars ive only seen aces lose 3-4 times out of 20+ hands and im yet to lose with them. Good thing is that if/when you lose with them you can't blame yourself for playing badly :)
if i got aces everyhand i promise you that i would win my fairshare of tournaments :)
Thanks for the comments and answers you all gave. I see there is people here that always win with AA and people here that always lose with AA. In was just a little bored after I got bad beaten out of a tourney with AA vs 99 all in on the flop of 7-7-3.. My opponent happened to catch a 9 on the river for a full house to crack my aces. So I wanted to hear some AA stories o internet poker, lol.
Well there is still a good chance that AA loses a hand and this is what happens more or less. People only remember better when they lose with AA than winning with them.
goes both ways... this is poker...
I think the biggest issue with playing AA post flop is the amount of times you come up against aggression like a c/r or reraise and don't think you are beat. You are clearly beat unless you are playing a maniac. Most players will only make a move like this with the goods. If they only had TPTK they would flat call your bets most of the time.
If you get it all in ahead with AA and get sucked out there is nothing you can do.
all depend on how you play them, if you limp and try to take more chip you will get crack i tend to over bet them preflop so i get against premium hand only and then if you see that you get call wath for set and id say pocket ace is only a pair... not that strong hand so most of the time i end up folding them!!
I think online pocket Aces are overrated
Its the best starting hand so you have to play it like that. I think people overplay after the flop. They need to understand that its still just one pair and hands that they are playing against are prolly better than just 1 pair. Preflop, however, you need to get it all in whenever you can.
ive got my fair share of hands on HM(cpl hundred thousand plus) n my AA is still running like 96%/. The thing about it is like most other bad beats(in cards n other stuff) u tend to only remember the bad things. So u may have won w/em 150 times but ur only gonna remember the 5-10 times u lost w/em.
I will take pocket aces every hand. Anyone who is complaining about them would too.
Pocket Aces are my favorite starting hand in every occassion
all in! :))
they get f***ed almost every day atleast mine do !!!!!!!!!!!!
I say that is lost with good hands why are not the best
You have to at least see a flop with AA and you have to call all ins with AA. They may not win, but they are still the best starting hand.
It all depends on the postion and how aggressive the players are on the table. I normally play tight
just go all in preflop or make a really big bet preflop so someone who actually has cards will only call
ive only seen aces beat a couple of times and it was me lol
gone going gone everything gone give a dawn go be the birds when they dont wanna sing gone people allalkward with their things gone
I've seen AA beat a lot when I go all in with AA somone tends to get 3 of a kind on their pocket
if i had to bust let it be on aa..
The moment you know you're screwed, stop putting your money in the middle. Rule number one. Now my strategy with AA is to really push hard pre-flop, and force out all the speculative hands. As strong as AA is, it's still just a pair, and in multi-way pots (5+) it will only be the best hand 60 per cent of the time. So keep it aggressive preflop.
lost yesterday the freeroll with AA vs J10
and that really sucks..
AA has 80 percent chances to stay the best hand to the river against 1-2 opponents with pocket pairs. So you will lose once out of five times. The problem is, online poker being much faster than live poker, this will seem to occur more often. Anyways, you will most certainly make a significant profit playing them every time.
i wait for aa have can you overplay that is hand i get bust or win..
I guess i,m one of the few that likes pocket aces.Something about it being the best starting hand in holdem i guess............
Its hard to overplay Aces preflop, but easy to post flop. What you do with AA is going to be different depending on the players, your knowledge of the players, chipstacks, position, etc. My most memorable AA hand was in a tourney 7 or 8 years ago, I had the AA and 2 other players each had KK. Very hard to lose that one, and I won it. I busted one of them out and crippled the other. It was great :).
