Ok... so then what is considered a bad beat then? Is it when a player rivers you with something like only 2 or 3 outs or what?

had some someone UTG shove all in. i was in the sm with AJ of clubs. i had been watching him and thought he was loose and so i called his shove. he turns over A7 off. flop misses us both but 2 clubs on the board for my nut flush draw. turn is blank and of course the river he hits his one outer 7 non-club. guess it's part of poker but a bit frustrating when it happens
Playing a PLO cash game on cake and I pissed some bad player off by showing him a bluff. So next Hand I have Ad7d5c6c I call a raise priced on the button. Flop comes 7d5d10d
Bad player pots I re pot he shoves turns over Kc10s2d9c
Guess what happens next Turn 10 river 2 Did the math I was over 97% to win the hand when it all went in. Pretty sure that is a bad beat.
ouch that hurts but ill guess it was ob carbon ... have had that and worse on that site too may times in plo
like the old saying tho,,,if ya dont like losing,,,,DONT PLAY !
thats poker, and u defitely know he was prob goin to call ya no matter what forshowin himthe bluff
Yeah all in... but you have a biggest hand ! ;)
i had kq hearts at a 1-2 game dude raised to 6 i made it 20 he makes it 40 i cal its k 73 2 hearts i check he puts me all in , i cant get away but not a bad beat. he had ak it held
so 47 or 57 is better then k7 or q7, and 57 non suited is playable k7 non suited is horrible. k7 suited it playable. 47 and 57 are good hands if its cheap and you hit 2 mor to your staight. with 57 ur drawing for a straight with 234689*4 = 24 cards as well as 3 5s and 3 7s.
so thats 30 cards for a flop with 57 ...learn value
how bout this, playing a cash table, I'm short stacked, bb get 2 3 off. only 1 limper, but i don't want to push my last bit in with that, so i see a flop. A 4 5, i can't believe it. He "value"bets his A. I push he obviously calls, has A J. I win right, nope, turn J, river A. That's an online hand.
I was in the freeroll yesterday and ended up being bubble boy...Had pocket tens in the BB..guy raised 3xBB everyone folded around to me which was only two more BBs to call..Flop came 9910...We end up going all in on the flop he had pocket kings turn was a blank and river came a King :/
You can loose with every Hand Mate ! Thats Poker
wow i never thought i would get 53 replies, but guess what , some of you still need to learn what a bad beat is.
i agree with this thread however id like to know if u think aj an aq sucking out on my ak is a bad beat i would say it is also
iv had aq vs aq an ak vs ak and have lost not counting my aa vs aa and also losing to a flush.
funny thing is those wernt as bad as the hand ima explain.
i have k s k h in a tourney im 2000 chips shy of chip leader 260,000 ish obviously a mtt
he has xx we will say for now blinds are 3/6 k we are both in a hand at the same table i raise to 18k he calls
flop comes kd q s 4 h .... beautiful i bet around 28k he calls turn is q of d still a awsome card for me only hand to fear is qq

GUESS WHAT CARDS ARE IN HIS HAND GO F$%^&* FIGURE A10 OF DIAMONDS
It was a good post. Really though I don't think most people tell beat beat stories

Yeah, it's like people think that they are so good that the only way they lose is someone put a bad beat on them, gimme a break.
Very good post and I agree with everything you said.
b-b-but i thought a bad beat was anytime i didn't win...=p.
it's a useless term for whiners. even if it wasn't your fault, it was your fault. learn from it and move on.
Most of the stories are not bad beat stories, they are beat bad stories
yup.
okay if u say so they r beat bad story....
Sombody hits a 1 outer on the river, thats a bad beat.
your post is most of it true, but i have to disagree with u in that part u said bad luck is when someone hit 4 outer on u,that means if ur money get on the flop,he had 4*4=16 percent to win the hand and if u mean before the flop that means 8*4= 32 percent he would win the pot,but believe me the range that i say is a bad beat when 2 outs before the flop (16%) or 2 outs on the flop(8%) that means bad beat in my opinion .but what piss me of more than anything when people thinks ace king is favorite all the time in good way,ace king (not suited) before the flop against quine jack off suite is 3 to 2 and that means 33% for quine jack and that not bad in my view, that mean every 3 times u lose one time man,so u have to prepare for that lose.
for example bad beats is when u flop to set,and the guys make runner runner flush.
bad beats suck but there part of poker
If we didn't have bad beats, what would we talk about?
thank you mate for this article
I dont even think 4 outs is a bad beat all in pre flop
Play'd kings today in $3 bounty I called 3 other peoples all in and ended up losing to k/j ( he hit a st8) Was pretty bummed as it was $3 and a huge chip stack that i was going to win. But it didn't happen and i ended up making a huge run and getting 2nd place with atleast 10 bounties anyways.
As i wrote this also i just broke Kings with q/j cuz he limped in and i floped a st8. Poor play by him rofl
Very good post and I agree with everything you said.
beat bad stories.
Bad beats are part of the game and a part of most rap music I have heard.
very very good post... its almost as bad as overly tight predictable players who cry when they get beat with mediocre hands. poker is like chess in thought but here you can be muchhhh more unpredictable
I don't get bad beats, and if I did I don't remember. No sense in dwelling on a lose, have to brush off and move on
I had a lot of bad beats, the most painfull were when AA are involved...u just so happy when u had those rockets and them loosing is really bad.
i think even if u know what a bad beat is telling them to people is not professional at all.
bad beat is when I bet, someone calls and I lose
most people have no clue...they think cause they lost a hand its a bad beat.
"bad beat is when I bet, someone calls and I lose "
I think u hit the nail on the head with that one!!!
