I hate AK, I really do. I had an AKs on last table of a MTT, and got 4 betted pre flop so I went all in... The dude turns over an 87o, and busts out my AKs.

I've definitely won more with it than I have lost. It has gotten me in trouble a time or two though. Usually when I hit top pair and someone else hits a set or two pair. Still you can't get mad at ak when a donkey gets lucky. Just last night I had someone five bet me all in preflop when I was holding aces. He spiked a set of 3's on the flop and took me for 40 bucks at a 10c/25c table. .....shit happens.

yea Ace King can be a bitch!! Its only good if u hit flop!!

At micro stakes I find it harder to protect AK or any hand for that matter.

It all depends what happens on the flop and the tightness of your opponent

I only get the hand when someone else has AA, playing live I love the hand.

AK is starting to feel like JJ to me...

All you're gonna do with AK in cash game is run it into AA or KK.

To me A/K is a hand that I'm "Beware" of.. someone has a pair you are already playing from behind. Then what ?

Very true.... then again any hand can be beat... Poker is more than half gambling .... the oher half seperates who wins and loses in the longrun

You should not call all-in preflop with A-K off, especially off-suit, when you're up against more than one opponent - unless you're very short or calling only sacrifices a small fraction of your stack, or some other special circumstance. As an all-in call, it's borderline even against one opponent. If the other person goes all-in, probably the best you can hope for is to have a race in which you are slightly behind to begin with.

Ak has got to b one of my FAV hands but not all-in at a cash game unless special circumstances as HopsnBarley28 already explained prety well

I really don't like AK (unless it is suited because I always seem to hit the nut flush draw) because you are only about a 2:1 against two random cards. I would much rather have QQ than AK.

AK is about as good as AA at times. IT is a good hand when it is played right

I never understood why players get all excited and play/bet the way they do when dealt A-K, then again in poker it all depends on the situation.....

I hate ace king suited or unsuited, it doesn't really matter.

i suppose it would have to do with how the table is running alot of donks or some good players. But in ur position it worth a raise. Id raise any way if no ones going.

I love AK, it makes me tons of money live.

I can take or leave AK, gets busted too much in freerolls for me. Live in cash games it seems to hold up better, but that is just how I feel.

A K is for bad kids

I think it is just another two cards untill the flop .

Usually when I get A K on the flop comes either a Q or a J and two low cards. lol. Its hard to fold it though.

Same way i feel its not the nuts until the flop,turn and river hit other than that just another set of cards.

I'm not a big fan of AK in cash games and heres why. In cash games if you flop the top pair with AK then your opponent hits a set, most likely its going all in. Viceversa pokers opposite.

AK is still a good 3 bet hand pre flop. History and HUD stats tell me whether I shove or fold to a 4 bet shove. Deep stack, I will fold to a TAG against a short stack it's an easy call/shove.
