Fold or Hold Bubble Boy
On the Bubble holding AA preflop of live tournament 500$ buy in. Three ALL IN's in front of you that all have you covered, I folded since my normal tournament buy in is only 50$ maybe 100$ and last place in this tournament was 2200. Any thoughts? Go for the big Quad up or take the guaranteed cash
thanks for the feed back

Well, if they all had you covered you were probably short-stacked to begin with. I think folding vs. calling depends on you, whether you were happy for a min cash or you wanted a deep run. Your odds of winning are significantly decreased by the number of players in front of you, so folding is just fine imo. However, if you wanted a shot at the big money, this is probably your best chance. I would call and then puke when I got knocked out. I hate that sickening feeling of losing "too early".

I love the laydown right there for the stakes your talking and the 6 different combinations of hands your up against is like playing against two Omaha hands....I feel if you like money folding there is exactly what you should do but doing so in that situation is likely a very tough decision and few players are capable of such huge laydowns....but with the amount of tournaments...mostly freerolls ...making for many similar scenarios in which you speak of more often than not AA KK QQ JJ AK etc one of the small connected suits or just plain rags will be there to take the huge pot down with rags or smaller pair that hits on flop turn or river..happened to me today....fairly deep seemingly carefully trapping the bettor...noticing by the turn that he was working to see the river with pot control bets....about the time I put it all together the river was staring at me and it was seemingly a brick....non board pairing...no flush possible....measly ol deuce....my AK feels pretty solid now with a K on the flop and four other rags that are not likely his holdings.....he shoves his whole stack....I debate folding but can only surmise he missed and knows I will fold as he has me out chipped and he surely cannot know how strong I am as I only called the whole way....I reluctantly call my stack with mostly curiosity making me do it....that river deuce...well the feller was holding two deuces in his hand and stacked my curious ass...oops.

It depends on your expectations. I your happy with a small cash, fold. If your going for a big cash, hold them.
-
Thanks for all the response =) hindsight it was the right fold I ended up making final and getting a good bit more then just last place money the three hands that moved on me was QQ AK AK ..............Q right in the window

lay it down all day if you need the min cash, but i am a gamble i will call personally and pray for the quadruple up and go for the real money
-
Sic spot I lose the ability to think when I pick up AA lol
-
i had enough lessons with AA to pretty damn know that if u want not to lose ur buy-in investment and STILL HAVE SOME CHANCES post bubble to go deep in the $$$ u have to FOLD there...let shovers kill each other.. i know its a good chance to build a big stack, but its also a chance to be beat by rags or any bs, so my opinion is fold unless u dont care for losing ur buy-in AND for minimal cashing.... :)
-
I would lay that down all week and on Sundays....:) The fact that there are three in front of you already in can make that decision a lot easier! That size of a buy in, there is no reason to play games. All work, no play! Get PAID!

I'm shipping it in, even with less, the odds are too good

I would have pushed with AA.

I'm assuming that when you say "on the bubble" you mean that there only needs to be one last person to get eliminated before you get into the money if that is the case then you made the right move cause one of those players in front of you is going to lose and then you limp into the money.
Now if there were still several people left until the money then I would of probably would of shoved all in and closed my eyes and hoped for the best.
I play alot of sng's over on carbon and I run into situations like this all the time, not necessarily with a pair of aces though.
-
YEA . I think it was a smart play . you had nothing invested and 3 players in pot already even aces at mot was 40% to win .. take the guaranteed cash n better position .
-
Well people with deep stacks close to the bubble will throw their chips out there to steal blinds from short stacks trying to make the money to boost their chip stacks.
If it was just one shover who was already going about the business of stealing blinds it might of been worth it to call if the cards had been going your way most of the tournament.
But with 2 others calling your chances of winning drop off a little so being on the bubble I would have probably folded unless I had the biggest stack of the people all in.
-
BubbleBoy ain't skeered to push it in... he's not worried about the amount of his buy in.... he plays to win like a super donkey
-
I like that attitude but it depends on the buy in and the stack size...If you are the lowest and get 88 or better I say shove baby shove if you are mid stacked I say fold baby fold lol
-
Shove it! I'll take my chances in that spot. I would take that chance to win a massive pot and make a deep run in the tournament!
-
I personally would fold just to insure that you get that 2.2k GTD. If three are all in, chances are that at least one will go out after that hand and if not, shortly after.
-
id foldanything but AA if imshortstackedand potential bubble evenfold KK.
wait till adftertobeaggressive.
I always play tourny to win1dt not just cash. so thatswhy idothat.

There's a lot of factors that make up anyone's decision. And more than one right answer for more than one reasons. Also, just because you make the right choice doesn't mean it wont go wrong. If you want guarantee a cash and you feel fairly certain that folding to the money will allow that, than it's the right decision. If you feel like you have a great chance to double up or possibly more and that will put you in position for a better run at some real cash, than calling is the right decision. People will argue for and against both. In the end even if your playing well some will call you smart and even more will call you a donkey. Good Luck!!

I think if you're in the bubble and 3 push allin front of you what would be more logical that foldearas since in that pot 2 will come out and you'd be charging now if your chips are sufficient to pay all 3 allin and keep racing would pay for that have a good chance of getting a good pot and in the best position for the final table tabala all depends on your stack
-
sounds like the buy in meant a lot to you so fold until your in the money.
