I have 10.2k (10k starting stack). Do you guys call here?
I would have had to fold in this position. Too likely to be against KK or AA. It was a nice fold.
two things
1) damn, you got cl on your table, did you see how he got to 46k
2) hard to say. would probably fold this deep and early in this particular tourney. thinking would be best case scenario would be a coinflip, worst case i'm crushed. just not worth my tournament life. in a po freeroll or most of the low buy-in tournies i play i snap call and hope for the best.
3) plus not all is lost by folding as you did. at least you can now put the guy on a better range going forward, and know he thinks AK is the nizzle.
I will also take criticism on my choice to just flat the 270 instead of 3bet it. Im 3betting QQ here at least 50% of the time. I had button so I chose to call and play the pot in position. I figured my hand was hidden and I could get him to stack off on set over set.
When I got to table chip leader already had 37k. Hes been playing/limping almost every hand. Someone 6bet donated 6k to him with air when he flopped two pair to get him up to where he is now.
oh first of all you were UTG right ? if your deep in tourney me personally there is way too much action out there to call ide fold couldnt call there way to much action in front of you either dude that shoved had KK or better depending on how he has been playing all game ide have to be playing to really tell you what ide do because it alll depends on how he has been playing if you seen him shoving Ak-AJ all game ide have to call if you seen him play tighter and play his AK-AJ like what they are and limp with them then ide def have to fold cus what it says is I HAVE KK OR AA his play would be screaming it :) idk though
I will just call alot with QQ also JJ just to make sure I beat the flop. Alot of people go all in and get mad when A what ever beats them, I like to protect my chips... The call and fold were good I think. You got alot of chips and slow blinds no reason to race this point in tourny. GL and GJ :)Quote:

I think you have to 3 bet there especially with position. Then, the decision is much easier whether to call or fold for all of your stack. With how you played it I would fold though.
oh ok the way it looked was UTG lol and i wouldve did the samething limp in and see flop first but shit im not calling all in there i lose JJ QQ KK all day :( starting to play them cautiously now :L)
@Rckt I respect that response a lot. Like i said 50% or more I am 3betting. I was looking see the flop and keep the strength of my hand hidden a little. Essentially turning QQ into a set mining hand and looking to get him to stack off set over set.

The same two villians just got in an identical raising war and had AA and QQ all in pre.

just saw your post. guess he had the QQ end.
In the original hand they both ended up having AK and it got all in for the chop. QQ would have scooped a 27k pot for me.
In my opinion the fold was the right decision at this time / spot
woulda coulda shoulda right? You are skilled enough to get away from it. tough to know u would have won but like u said same 2 got into a raising war and had AA vrs QQ. better to be safe then sorry.

I think that you made the right play by calling then folding. If you had 3-bet, he still would have gone in and you would have lost chips. Since he raised from UTG strong, then I think calling then folding on the button was the right decision.
i think u gotta 3-bet PF there, especially him being as active as u say he was. Calling the AI, tough decision, probly depends on the BI, which im assuming is $11, suck a donkish line, id probly be calling there 65% of the time since thats repping small pairs that he doesnt wanna see a flop w/IMHO
Agree that the normal play is to 3bet pre. I was kinda just getting fancy and hiding my strength. Cant always play by the book gotta keep em guessing. I think if i do 3bet pre and the raising war breaks out its an even harder call IMO.
depends on my mood what i would do if i was in a dont give a chit mood i would call if i was playing to win i would lay them down:)

When I am deep in tourney and I have chips, I def. will fold in spots post flop if it could take 20% of chips or more when I have little invested in the pot to begin with. The win could help grow your stack, but the loss then going through a few rounds of antes and blinds could leave you in a tougher spot if your face another situation like that. Basically I am saying once I am deep with chips I remind myself " it's just a hand, find a more favorable spot later " I try not to get ' married ' to a hand.
