Just curious what kind of bankroll in your opinion you would need to make 200$ a day easily on average...
you looking at a 2k bankroll at least if you talking about making 200 bucks imo, in case you take a 200 dollar lost it will only be 10% of your roll..gl on that quest that is a pretty high amount to start off with, maybe 50-100 is a good start
im not starting with it, was jus curious
i would maybe in the future, but id like to build my br to the amount needed
Cash Games - if u can make 2bb/100 hands and play 2,000 hands a day. Then you would need to play $2/$5 stakes to make $200/day. A decent roll would be $25k min which is 50 max buyins. $50k would be more realistic with 100 max buyins. Granted 2bb/100 at 500nl is tough.
Tournies im too lazy to do the math but hmmm. Lets say u can average a 5% roi in tournies which is good imo. That's $4000 in tourney buyins a day. So lets say ur doing like 20 $200 tournies. 100 buyins would be $20k but variance and dropping down yadda yadda $25k-$50k is way safer.
So I'd say $25k-$50k would be feasible to make $200/day idk kinda rough math
i was thinking like 20k, so i guess i was on the low end
Yeah 20,000 seems like a good starting place. Obv the bigger your roll from there the less risk
yea i want min risk.. cause i would be playing professionally which is what i strive for 1 day.. im working my azz off at a real job right now to try to get there..
im hoping to save like 15k, and build my roll to like 10k within a couple yrs
depends on how hard you wanna work... will you be one tabling or multi tabling, and or multi siting.
but i'd say roughly to start going pro u need 5000 dollars
imo 5k isnt enough to quit a real job
lol i meant 20k, instad of 2k, i do agree with shark you need at least 50-100bb..oops
IMO live poker is impossible to be pro without taking on large amounts of risk. Especially for MTTs. You have to be backed or sell action for markup. Just so fucking hard to beat the absurd rake.
Online is impossible to be pro now in the USA. Think about it. A handful of USA players make 50k+ a year and its mostly luck based. You could be a professional lottery player and have a much better outlook than that
If online does come back for USA I fear they will tax it at a % that makes the game impossible to beat.
Remember your number #1 opponent at every single table is the house. They get guaranteed 2nd-3rd place money in every tourney and in some gross ones they get 1st place cash. Its gross.
Rake of 9% is tough to beat online because u cant find big enough edges anymore. Not enough donks going ALL IN with inferior aces etc. AQo used to be a winning hand, now its -EV because not enough people stacking off with AJ A10 or worse.
Rake of 20% live is just LOL. ya fields are much worse so it evens a little but still impossible to beat.
You missed the boat for professional poker. If you were nasty in 2005-2008 there was a lot of money to be made.
Now everyone caught up the the curve, edges are getting smaller and the casino is becoming one of the only winners. Its pretty hard just to break even online. something like 90% of winners are barely over break even or only winning because of rake back. Rake is soooooo fucking hard to beat. They are smart they picked a great number to charge where the most elite could scrape by a small win %, a lot would be slightly below break even, and then some whales/degens would cover the rest. Think about how much casinos and online sites make. Add the rake they take for a single day.. Its sickening. We need lower rake for poker to be beatable again
yea rake is a bitch!! Like worm said WOMEN ARE THE FUCKIN RAKE! lmao
youre right my bad lol.. i dont kno why i said that lol
Would need like 100k. Lot luck. Join bunch 5k tourneys. Hope cash in all. Maybe make 300k a year. Ha
Very true you would need atleast a BR of $20k to make around $200/day. But if you like to test the waters start with about $150 and play in the $5 SNG tournies.
I myself did and played about 8K hands a month. Done fairly well at first, but others picked up on some of my tendensies. And it was a learning experience. But to find out if you have what it takes to make that kind of $$$ test your self before diving in with alot cash.
GL
10k minimum
This is stupid I kept going broke!
Yes on carbon and on bovada!
Anyone got advice for me to not keep going broke after getting up to 20 dollars
if your like me stay at the po freerolls tell you are higher. 20 and I start playing like I have real money for some dumb reason. :(
Dont play with the money and stick to freerolls.
depends on the site and what kind of traffic you can egt. if you can play enough you can make 200 a day at .50/1 nlh or plo and you would need only 1k to start, but you would have to put in some long hours and must realize some days you will lose money
If you're really interested in going pro, you need to be thinking about moving down to Mexico. There just isn't enough money to be be made off of us sites. Cost of living can be much cheaper, and then you have access to much MUCH better options to play on. And I don't even necessarily mean PS either.
$200 a day? I would say have nothing less than 20k if you are playing live cash games. If you are looking for a set daily return I would also suggest sticking to HU cash games. It is your best chance at reaching a daily average at the end of the week! Unless you are an excellent Sit and go or small field tournament player.
I have no idea but I just wanted to wish you good luck!
Beautiful cans if thats you, if you cant make 200 of 40-60 a day dont play
Just curious what kind of bankroll in your opinion you would need to make 200$ a day easily on average...
The games you play are really key here...tourney, NLHE ring, limit, full or short...
BR requirements can go waayyyy up in scenarios. Plus, it helps to know how good you are at multi tabling. This reduces variance per hour if you can multitask
coming from someone who used to play this game for a living. It all depends on what kind of lifestyle you wanna live. You can grind 180s all day long and get by on a roll of $2000. But if you want to make any sort of decent living playing cash or mtts, you need in the 15-$20k range.
If i were just starting out, what I personally would do is save up $1,000 and put it online. Continue working my job to pay my bills and not touch my money online, within 1 year I would most likely have over $10,000 and be able to go pro doing that. But everyone has different skillsets and different issues and priorities.
It all depends on if you are going to play live or online. If online, it also depends on what country you live in.
your best bet to make $200 on average a day is probably mass multitabling sngs playing everything from a certain buyin all the way down.
