I think the best way to maintain a bankroll is not playing lol
exactly on trying to build it slowly. Will give you more gametime and will allow you to adjust your play... goodluck and hope you succeed
I dropped back off, I almost went broke. I got down to 0.90, now I'm back to 3.30. we'll see how it turns out........:p
There is no such thing as BR management if your account is like under $20. some people say even under $50.
Correct there really isn't much bankroll management if your under $20. Pretty much everything is a risk. But you can still follow sound rules to avoid risk of ruin. Try these rules, they work real well.
"1. Never ever get into a cash game or SNG tournament where the buy in is more than 5% of the entire bankroll that you have. You can break this rule in case your bankroll is very small and you are going to play a Sit and Go or cash game where the buy in is lower than $2.5
2. Don’t join a MTT (Multi Table Tournament) where the buy in is higher than 2% of your current bankroll. By not risking you will be able to keep a lot of your money intact. This rule applies unless the buy in at the tournament lower than $1.
3. In case you have managed to win at a cash game and your money that you have at the table represents more than 10% of your online poker bankroll, then you should cash out of that table the moment the blinds are going to reach you." Chris Ferguson
read chris fergusons tips on bankroll management very good information.
Google search. the stairway to bankroll. that should give you a clear image on how bankrolling works..
Back up to about $ 30.00 :D. I believe there is always a Bankroll management even if it is 20,50, or what ever. This may not sound like a lot, but if even if you have nothing, you're trying to build up correct? (The idea of free rolling) With $20, You could join two $10 buys and not cash! On the other end, you could cash and win say $200 or what not. I think the idea of BR is to keep building with out losing the majority of your roll.
or just throw a couple grand on there and play the big stakes and hope like hell you win. LOL
How is the roll management going ??
i take time build bm den i spendid...........
i think u should play where u feel safer
Currently around $33! Back up from 0.90:cool:
:(This is the last time i get five points for this grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take it from me. I've blown more rolls on Super Turbos than i can count. you stay away from any 3 minute blind structures, and you'll be golden. I mean if you play one of them you'll get compulsion so very fast, i know i do.
mmy serious advice that you were about playing in you limit first floor for qeu you don't break your bank
Currently around 20 dollars. I'll be sticking to the low stakes for now, I usually go up around 40 and drop back off.
And a $11 coupon, if that counts for anything.....
play sit n go in micro levels and u gonna win more money :)
I play micro stakes until you have it built up
tnx
take it calmly old that happens to us to all
old we go those calmly and it overcomes
I think the moust you should pay is 3% for cach SNG games and 2% for MTT/MTT SNG
Lower stakes means high rake. Put it all on 2 cash tables and get to 200000
i play micro adn low stakes and will be fine sometimes hahahahahha nice XD
that doesnt mean you pratice bankroll managemet. BRM is only playing games, that you can afford, when your only risking a small amount of your bankroll
When playing online poker there is no such thing as bankroll mgt. In the end no matter what your always left with $0.oo been there done that about 100 times
what differences should we take into account for turbo/hyper turbo tournies?
thanks!
I have always liked the idea of having no more than 2.5% of your BR on the table at one time. I have done ok everytime I have stuck to that. Problem is when I am running great and I think there is no way I can be beat today and move up to say 20 and 30% of my BR and drop it in one hand and get pissed, rebuy and drop another 30%.
The general rule for BRM is max 5% for cash game buyins and 2-3% for SnGs and MTTs. Your BR is so small that you'll have to use this system or it will evaporate quickly. BRM is a relative concept. I could have 100 on carbon and play 100NL if i wanted. All i would have to do if i lost it all would be reload. If $27 is all you can deposit right now, you better use the BRM.
Others have mentioned staying away from turbos and super turbo sng mtt. This is the a necessity. The fast blinds remove the skill and ability to play a solid tag style.
i really like the 5% rule so you dont lose everything in one sitting
on carbon, when i am low on money...(below 50.00) i like to do double ups. usually 2 or 3 dollar double ups..the blinds are 10 min and u only have to get in the top 5 out of ten!! or i like to get in mtt with low buy ins like 1 or 2 dollars..NOT super turbos..and i even try to stay away from turbo tourneys
Super turbo SNG"s do not fit my playing style,,,, play games that fit your style and don't play at limits that will wipe out your bankroll when you hit a losing "streak".
Well I try and hold to the rule of not using more than 20% of the bankroll at a time no matter what I choose to play
and to sum up what everyone seems to be saying and what I agree with.... first STAY inside your comfort zone of game type (you just don't wanna put yourself in a position where your pressing to do something your not used to before you even play a hand)... and second, keep your buy-in amounts low (its way better to very slowly build up your bankroll than it is to quickly lose it)
Stay AWAY from low-limit ring games or be prepared to have your KK beaten by 42o (true story).!
i play low buy in sit and gos until bankroll gets bigger
low limit ring games or small sit and goes are good but best bet would be the ring games.
