Bankroll Building Something from Nothing

Just recently I have lost my bankroll and I aspire to make it back.
I have $0.01 as of right now! (JMVIndustry on Pokerstars if you don't believe me)

I am hoping to make $25 by next Sunday, and go up from there.
I have set strict rules for myself which I must follow.

Rules are listed here:

1. I must not pay in SNG or MTT until I accumulate over $2.
2. Once doing so, I cannot join any tournament over 5% of my Bankroll.
3. I will not be able to play any SNG over 4% of my Bankroll.
4. Ring tables are prohibited from being played.

After I make my $25, I aspire to make a respectable bankroll of $1000 or such in the next coming months.

I will update my status hopefully every couple of days!

Good luck. :o I was going to go for $1000. I won $7 in a freeroll and turned it into $205 in one day. Then I lost it all the next day. :D lmao. I don't always try that hard to keep my bankroll since I cannot cash it out. :( Too bad I can't trade it to other players. XD

i have had trouble even beginning to go up from my initial deposit in the last 4 months but i kept depositing 20 dollars at a time....before I was playing very erratically and going on tilt all the time and losing the remaining 12 dollars i had after losing the first 8. I have since learned better emotional control and the last 20 dollars i deposited on carbon is now up to 69 dollars... I have continued to grow my bankroll and seemingly only lose when I get bad beats. My skill level of play has increased since playing my first live tournament. I now have 2 under my belt and I am planning on playing a 75 dollar bounty tourney tonight!!! Wish me luck!

Good luck. Bankroll building from nothing is very difficult, but it's easy to get carried away when you finally manage to get a few dollars in your account.
I've gone from $0.30 to $35 in a few hours on Pokerstars, only to lose it all (apart from $0.06) a few hours later because I got a bit carried away. The very next day I went from $0.06 to $85 in a few hours. That time I made sure I transferred some money back to my bank account before losing the rest.
It's the same on my Betfair poker account. I went from nothing to over ?30 in a short time before again losing it all.
I had ?0.01 in my Betfair poker account last week. It's now at more than ?150 and so far I've been able to control myself.

Good rules to post. Although following them can be hard.

I just started out on Bankroll building and I was easily lost. Have you ever finished this by any chance?

i play evertyday free freerole in hope that i get the 1000 :P
but still i get payd more then i thoth sinds 4jears am palying real money but not good succes

i never have made a deposit and right now i am around 40 dollars in two different sites, i think i will be back to poker up from now and try to bild up a bankroll ;)

starting with low value takes a lot of time and patience - guess I have lost the will and just play for the fun of it.
Of course if I win that's another matter.

It seems that Poker Site Freerolls seem to be coming back at some sites. Starting from nothing can be done, but you have be patient and grind your way up. Most peeps try to take a small amount and turn it into a "giant" bankroll. With the up and down swings, it's very improbable to do. Your bankroll guide lines seem to be good. Take care

The thing you MUSt do is only play like 20% of your roll at all times either MTT entyr or cash game buyin.....Dont ver play your limits.... Make sure you a comfortably at the limit your playing........Scared money wont win money!!!

20% is far to much, you should not make a buy inn which is higher tan 5% of your bankroll, later on you should not even risk 2%, you really have to know your limits or the others will get your money, even if you are a shark there can be a downswing with lots of bad beats

What are you doin' to build up your bankroll from nothing?

Read Chris Ferguson's article about starting a bankroll. Believe it was on full tilt where he went from $0 to $10,000.

You can build a Br from nothing. You just need to have the patience and attentiveness to go onto keeping MRM when you do get up a few dollars.

Went from 2$ free to 4K in blackjack once. Perhaps a skilled player of both could come to a good balance, allocating a certain % of poker winnings to a (mentally or on paper) separate bankroll for blackjack? That's how I first made the 4K, really good BRM. I went off the deep end and tilted in a sitting tho, but in theory, the plan was working. I'd even allocate extra money to bigger tournament risks if I won enough in blackjack in one sitting with 20$ or so.

I know this site is poker only, but would anyone like to discuss possible working strategies to Blackjack/poker mix like that??

It let me withdraw all 4K :P But I lost it before I chose to. it was on 888.

i think this game is 80% mental because no matter if u win 1000 dollars if u dont know how to manage :)

GL to you, ive tried that soo many, on pokerstars if think that its possible cause of all the freerolls

pokerstar sucks cuz it's a tourny for a shot in a weekly tourny. Deposit at Partypoker to get access to their FR tickets, which are better. and if u can do PS, do 888 poker. If you grind to iron you get access to a couple of 100$ GTD freerolls each day. Ive won hem a few times for 23$, and its not too hard. Chrome and copper get 200$ GT and 300$ GTD Freebuy (free-entry, unlimitd rebuys for a price).

I,m sure it,s possible to build a bankroll from nothing. You need to have patience and be agressive in some hands. There are lots of freerolls now -so you can start with absolutely nothing - there are lots of people in history - that goes up from the freerolls to a high stakes. THAT,S REAL!!!
