EQUITY POKER NETWORK CLOSING ACCOUNTS OF 'AGGRESSIVE PLAYERS'

Equity Poker Network accused of closing the accounts of 'Aggressive Players' on the PokerHost skin in a bid to try and create a more recreational player friendly feel. Is the Shark Tax causing PokerHost to ban their winning players in order to save costs? That's just one of the questions currently being asked on the "Unofficial Equity Poker Network" thread on 2+2, after a series of posters have unveiled that they have had their accounts closed for no other reason that winning.

The Shark Tax is one of a series of measures introduced by the EPN in a bid to create a more balanced poker ecosystem. It works by penalizing skins that bring an unhealthy balance of winning players to the network.

At this time your Poker Host has been closed, since our network has come to this decision after checking your table activity and have notice your aggressive play within the network, they have done a serious of background checks in order to come to this conclusion, at this time since we are in a small but growing poker network we cannot afford your aggressive behavior , we are now in a network the focuses on having recreational poker players and you do not meet this criteria, we thank you for your business at Poker Host, but at this time we will restricted your account, and the we will proceed with the normal process to cash out your funds in a prompt matter. We will be happy to hear from you in about 6months to a year, time the we expect to be big enough to afford your activity and continue the good relationship the we have had.?

pokerhost is a joke now. equity poker network is a HUGE joke altogether! those sites r soo slow, traffic wise and have no GOOD mtt or sngs, etc. and the samething happened to me. pokerhost used to b my main poker site when they were w merge, then they got worse and worse, and now w equity, imo, they r now EVEN WORSE!

i played there once, once didnt care for it and deleted just like half the new shit now-a-days

im guessing the shove poker player has been getting rewarded way to often there since there terrible RNG is setup to favor terrible play LOL So instead of rewriting the rng they will just eliminate those who have found cracks in it lol

That's probably it. The site does not have enough players so to fill tables they use bots. The bots can't handle aggressive players so you were taking the bots and therefore the sites money.

It sounds like crap to me and you should never go back just to spite them. However if its easy to win then you have to go where you can make the money.

i never play anything on there anyway.. maybe the freerolls but thats it

EPN Defends Bans on Winning Players | Pokerfuse Online Poker News

Only a handful of players have been affected, but the network is unrepentant.

Accusations that poker rooms on the Equity Poker Network (EPN) are banning winning players have been met with an unusual and robust response.

According to Calvinayre.com the EPN has replied stating that it is not "the universal panacea for all poker players and operators who wish to offer poker, but it is intended to appeal to a large subset of the poker community".

Pokerfuse was told that the EPN does not ban winning players, and that the network has nothing to gain by doing so.

However, the EPN has been set up as a cooperative network, so any network room that introduces highly "aggressive" or professional players may be advised that these players are not helpful to the network's player ecology. It is up to individual poker rooms whether to ban players or not according to source close to the situation.

The network's business model imposes a tax on operators who have too many "sharks" which disrupt the balance between the member rooms. The decisions so far has likely only affected a handful of players.

The EPN has been in business for only six months, and the development of a new online poker network is a business task which should not be underestimated?the market is not growing, and is dominated by well resourced and established brands.

Against this background, the EPN and its skins may face tough decisions about what to do with customers who are unprofitable, and who may drive away recreational players.

Nonetheless, there are other means available by which to manage the player ecology. Table limits and VIP programs have been used by poker rooms to curb the impact of winning players on the overall poker ecology of the network Unibet's recreational model has removed the link between rake and VIP benefits, at least partially.

Bans on successful players risk alienating a vociferous poker community. Although pokerfuse has been told that exploring these methods is on the agenda, questions remain about the ethics of taking such arbitrary decisions, and the message that sends about the EPN's attitudes towards its customers.

Equity Poker Network only wants players who either suck or play a tourney or 2 during the week for pure pleasure anything else is a no no support is a joke when you ask them a question or with a purpose they act like jerkoffs.

This site isn't going to last long at all.

Thanks for letting us know bud. It can be annoying trying to keep up on alll of the pokersite and whats going on with them.

It wouldn't discourage me from playing there because their games are obviously soft and their cashier is legit. The players I know experiencing this exile are getting their cashouts in the normal time frame. I will rack up as much as possible and let them show me the door if I am "too profitable" ...I mean, aggressive.

That site is full of aggressive players. They keep the ones that shove with bad hands hmm good to know lol.

I built up my bankroll on this site FFlush and will also continue just on low end MTT until I get the boot,

Rewriting their RNG would have been the best option possible to take care of the real "heart of the problem". I think they are a young network and they will learn from their mistakes. They need to set up more vip promotions to encourage players on all levels to participate in games similar to Carbon's strategy to attract players on all levels to balance out the ecology there. I don't deposit post-black Friday so it really does not affect me as much as an investor. I only invest time. :)
