Omg! I hate pokerstars!

As if i hadn't suffered enuf bad beats on pokerstars 2day, i really just got screwed. i was in 2 different 9 person sng's. i finished 3rd place in one when pokerstars gave me 10-10 & another guy k-k. yeah, 2 out of 3 people both got big pocket pairs. happens all the time, right? yeah, online it does. in the other sng, i was heads up w/ one other guy. i had 2/3 of the chips & got j-j. i raised, he re-raised, i went all in, & he called w/ k-j. of course, the river was a k. now he had the most chips. i almost got even when i got a-k & smooth called his raise. flop was 10-j-q. i check raised him all in & he had q-j. river was q. worst of all, he had the nerve 2 talk crap 2 me, after only winning cuz he got helped by pokerstars. AAaaaaaaggghhhhhh!!!!!!!

Pokerstars and Full tilt are the best on this moment.. please don't tell the bad beats you had, tell the story of the good software:) and tournaments...

and second point.... it's very anoining to tell only bad beat story.. you set your self up against the game... you're not good enough to accept the beats... please learn from this

yep it only takes a few bad beats to get the adrenaline going,but not all bad beats are badbeats.some are pretty obvious but i found if i go back and asess the situation i actually made a bad call or just simply played it wrong.better luck at the tables pro.

u think those bad beats aren't a part of the software? i luv everything on both of those sites, except the excessive amount of incredible bad beats.

bad beats are a part of variance... accept it..on the long termin you will win if you accept the process...

i also go back and assess the situation, usually by going 2 my poker odds calculator. when i have hands that are between 70-90% favorites, getting beat more than half the time, sumthing's wrong.

added at 3:06AM. i'm not saying it 2 bitch & moan (well, maybe a little bit. lol). i'm saying it to see how many other people are seeing what i'm seeing on a regular basis.

i completely understand variance. if a hand is a 80% favorite 2 win, the 20% is the variance. that's why i get so upset when i continually see hands that are favorites lose more often than they win. i do win more than i lose (i refuse 2 deposit $ anymore. i won a freeroll a few months ago & i've been playing off of that $ ever since) but usually by getting people 2 fold. otherwise, if it goes 2 a showdown, i get sucked out on.

then you should make more than you lose

i can't see how everyone can't see what i'm seeing. i would guess that part are naive, part are the donks that are the ones the sites are helping suck out on the better hands and better players, and maybe part are experts playing on high stakes tables, where players are better and don't get into as many situations where they have to suck out. since u guys are obviously the experts, maybe you can help answer a question that i posted before but couldn't get an answer to:
Does anybody know the odds of 2 different people both flopping a set in Hold'em? Since the odds of just one person flopping a set are pretty slim, you would think that the odds of 2 people both matching their pocket pair on the flop would be astronomical. Yet, I see it every day playing online. I don't think I've ever seen it in a live game, or even on tv.

PokerStars is stupid. Not because it is against you, but for many reasons. The worst being (1) PokerStars represents tournament chips with a dollar sign in front of them. This is incorrect. Stupid. Adds confusion to the game and to normal poker players who aren't used to that level of stupidity. No where else in the world do they do this. And it's for a reason. (2) Not showing tournament payouts until after the tournament has begun. Geez, I don't know, but other than the buy in amount, and what kind of game it is, the payout structure is the next most important part of my decision making process, whether or not to enter said tournament.

i do make more than i lose, but not as much as i should be making, because my good hands DON'T hold up MOST of the time. my hands that are favorites 2 win, only win half the time, if that much. i win by getting people 2 fold.

You obviously have not played a lot of live poker. Live and online are completely different. In a live game, you might be lucky to see 200 hands. Online, you can see that in an hour. Big difference. And who cares what you do or don't see on tv. That's edited. It has no bearing on real life.

i had noticed that, but it didn't affect me cuz i usually play set player sng's where the prizes ARE listed before the tourney starts. i do know what you mean, tho, cuz i actually checked out a couple tourneys cuz i was thinking about playing, but didn't, cuz of the reason u just mentioned. i didn't want 2 play if i didn't know the prize structure. bodog tries 2 list the prizes beforehand, but its software sux and ends up lagging, leading u 2 believe that there's 50 people in the tourney, until it starts and u find out that there's actually 1000 people. full tilt is the best at listing the prizes before hand, and i really like their previous hand option, that shows the whole table AND cards, instead of writing it so u have 2 read the whole thing.

so does that mean that you DON'T know the answer 2 my question? and EXACTLY, tv poker IS edited, 2 show the most interesting hands. u don't get more interesting than 2 people both flopping sets. u see all the time on tv where 2 people both get pocket pairs, cuz those are interesting hands. u don't see both of them flopping sets, tho, do u? and i'm sure i've played MORE live poker than u, since i did years in prison where all we did was play poker from lock out in the a.m. til lock in at nite.

hah, i can say only that is poker man! and i have seen such situations, where 2 players having their set. And, in addition, how do you think, what's for some respectable site would do this for Jonny against Jimmy, who are playing at the same table... ? have you thought about this?

how OFTEN have u seen that? if u say pretty often, then ur lying. and i'm sure things are different on the high stakes tables where they play. plus, good players don't get into as many situations where they have 2 suck out.

Yeah im not a fan of pokerstars either really the river seems to always hit for my opponent lol..id say %90 of the time.:mad:

Why hate Pokerstars?? It is not rigged, they use a random generator program. Poker is a game of skills and also some luck.
The Luck-factor we cannot control and variance is also a important component in this game. Don't be mad at the pokerroom, but enjoy the game, your luck wiil change!

hahahaha! u can always tell the people that work 4 the sites.

I have just recentley joined this forum, yet i am not new to the game of poker. In it's various forms. Poker Stars is a great site if you want to practice. Folding, that is. I play consistantely in live games as well as internet. I have naver seen 10/ 4 of a kinds in 1 tourny until poker stars. Lucky if I see 10 a year in live play Absolute probably has the fairest software program of them all. Full tilt takes a distant second. But Poker Stars has to be the most predictable bad beat site of them all. You have to logically question things when the odds are repeatedly overcome, with runner, runner. How is it that three handed everyone involved catches a good piece. I have seen the worst poker players be semi successful at Poker Stars. I hope everybody reading understands that I have also beatin other players when I truly knew it was the program and a bad beat. I would not reccomend making a deposit on this site, as it is clearly evident that you are simply flipping a coin 50% of the time. For what it is worth I spend mostof my time playing and winning live tournaments.

One more thing, how about a program that has a set shuffle prior to each deal. Rather than a computer generated variable.

BeforeI leave, just a little food for thought. Has anyone else ever noticed how few Americans place on the freerolls. I wonder if it is due to the difficult standards set on Americans for deposits. Simply stated we represent 90% of the player pool, but rarely ever place in the freerolls. Things that make you go hmm.

pokerstars has never been a sight of choice for me.i will play a private freeroll there and thats pretty much about it.i feel more comfortable at lower number of peeps sites.

Do not be upset man! As said one man: It happens! And in poker very often, just do not fall in tilt!

yeah, theres been a few times that i chased hands on poker stars that i would never chase in live poker, just cuz i know how often the bad beats cum, not just 4 me but 4 others 2. hands where i need runner runner 2 win. it actually works sumtimes 2. lol! does absolute allow u.s. players? i seem 2 remember trying 2 download that site but not being allowed 2 cuz i was in u.s.

jokerstars is just like full tilt...make it hard to get ur money but easy to deposit...fukin german assholes tryin to steal ur money...and its rigged...hahaha

seriously tho, i even heard mike matusow say on tv that he can never win a hand online when he's a 60% favorite. why can't a poker site cum out w/ realistic cards selection? couldn't they make enuf $ by charging a cut? especially after everyone hears about what a legit site it is. i know the cards on most online sites (at least on the lower stakes tables) are geared 2 help the donks, but wouldn't even the donks like 2 play real poker so their game gets better, instead of being rewarded 4 chasing 1 or 2 outters? i have 2 concentrate 2 keep my live poker mentality put away while playing online, & play a totally different way, just 2 keep my head above water so i can keep playing w/o having 2 deposit $, cuz i REFUSE 2 ever deposit $ on there again.

lol! i was just in a tourney on pokerstars and caught k-k, a-a, & q-q twice, FOUR huge pockets, in only SIX hands. finally got re-raised all in, the 2nd time i got q-q, by a huge stack w/ a-k and that was the end of that. lol!

I think it's because Im used to Full Tilt, but the PokerStars' design is horrible! Full Tilt Poker tables are more "beautiful", hahaha

You will always have donkytalk about bad beats, don't let them get you out of your game.. :)

I also dont like this site. I prefer UB or anything on the Merge Network for the smaller MTT's. I hate thousands of people in an online tournament. The overlay is good, but I dont like playing for 6 hours or more

I agree I love the format but I do really think I get alot of bad beats on PS,,, not so much FT,,, but I just can't stay away from PokerStars....

I'd have to agree in saying pokerstars has the nicest format... very clear and the layout is neat. But I think the bad beats is just a thing that plays on the mind. You may not see as many bad beats on FT but thats just chance. I see them everyday and I think the reason why everyone thinks these online poker sites are renowned for the worst bad beats are simply because the game is played at a much faster pace. It's probability occurs just as often in live poker but we're probably playing at atleast 3 times the speed of RL poker so we get to see many more hands which means we will see many more bad beats.
