I think Nevada is making sure legalize online poker right away, because it gives Nevada casino operators the chance to get sites opened up legally before the rest of the country. This means they will have a head start making money off the other 49 states as the domino effect starts, and allows Nevada to increase revenue from sources outside of the state.
Also, South Point Casino in Las Vegas was running a poker site last year that gave away 10 seats to the Main Event. Most people were speculating that they were doing it to build up a base in case online poker was legalized.

don't understand, i am in the states and gamble online. how is this any different? you mean that now a state (nevada) can run a online poker client? if the answer is yes, ... this means there are no poker clients being run in the USA?
i don't see any state but Nevada doing this if right now at this time they are the only state involved.
i see many a hookers but nevada is the only place to allow it.
