Lock buying Cake Network -- What Software though?

Got this from Lock this morning when I asked if they were going to use Cakes awful software:

We are using the existing Cake software, but part of our acquisition was to revamp everything with the Lock treatment.

We were actually waiting for Merge to release their updated software which we redesigned for them, but it hasn't quite made it to Beta yet. We will now take those improvements and turn out attention to the Cake software to give it an update more inline with the user friendly Lock feel.

So in short yes we are, but expect an update sooner rather than later.


Once Lock takes over Cake we WILL have daily tournaments once again on the Cake (Lock) network!!

This should get real interesting with USA players looking for something different than Merge or Cake. This could be huge public relation boost if they focus on the short comings with both networks in that regards.

I will be waiting anxiously for the Cake Freerolls to return. It was actually the driving force for me to see what this forum had to offer. Sounds great.

Any change in this poker environment, that continues in our direction is a good thing,

Merge knew of negotiations, when they canceled Locks S of P,

This is great news for USA players. It will give us another option to where to play. Since Lock is the biggest site on Merge consisiting of 40% of the players its going to be very very interesting to see what happens to Merge Network. This could be a MASSIVE blow to Merge.

Personally, with all the scandals and everything that has gone on with Lock Poker. I personally find it hard to believe that the majority of players will just leave Merge and hop on the Lock/Revolution Gaming Network. I think Lock Poker is going to have to prove itself for a little bit out in the open market before "alot" of the daily reg grinders will clear bankrolls and move to lock.

I think it has a huge window for success. There going to be able to use Cakes software and compete with Merge. There going to be able to create different gtd mtt and different mtt series (like the lockops) that was cancelled.

Haven't played Lock Poker... but Cake, and the network has to run the worst RNG in the web.

Lock Poker is currently on the same network (merge) as carbon, pdc, aced, hero ect. Its the same thing. There just going to be moving over to cake and running cake and revamping the site and tournaments.

I heard about this last night I hope this means bigger and better things to come for us USA players

They run the same typr of Minimum Withdrawal that Cake does... $500??

They will most likely change this. Its lock buying cake. Lock is just taking over there assets doesnt mean everything is going to be the same.

dont matter limmit no sence in with drawing in my eyes unless i can do a good chunk of change and still have $ to play

Will be interesting to watch... Cake has been one of the more stable networks... primarily I believe, due to their resistance to cramming the site full of free rolls. To profit from a free roll, you had to qualify in a MTT first. Coupled with the elevated withdrawal requirement, they kept a lot of the free roll whores out.

Just think this will be good and will be interesting for sure. There is a huge window for this to be successful, I just personally think Lock Poker has had to much scandal in the past year that this is going to be hard for them to pull off.. There going to have to have the first 2-3 months run as smooth as possible esp with all the promos they will be running.
