Staking/Loaning informal poll for the community

In light of what this place is spiraling into, I'd like to get a gauge from everyone on what we think some guidelines should be going forward for staking and loaning. Here are my questions:

- Should it be allowed in Channel 1 at all / do you think there is a time limit allowed (like 1 request per hour, etc.)?
- Should it be confined to posts in the forum / is there a time limit for bumping them (see my first comment)?
- Do we limit it to tenure on the site and/or posts made?

It would be nice if this could be kept to a reasonable discussion without anyone calling out anyone else. Just curious as to everyone's thoughts as a whole.

I feel like its fine in chat but we should probably limit it to once every 15 minutes and I think bubble chat should be off limits for asking for stakes.

Great thread starter, I was thinking about this myself, actually comparing staking site rules as far as social problems and handling

ill be posting later after i pull all my scrambled thoughts together....bare with me lol

My word isn't much considering all the hate for new members here but I would say post it in the forum in a thread, maybe one thread a day, keep it out of chat on the homepage, that way it is a legit request and anyone with interest will get back to you, outside of that it kind of seems like begging even if that is not your intentions

I should have mentioned bubble stakes - we already outlaw that if reported.

i think it should be mainly done in the forum..... with more rules... like p2p has... restricting noob accounts from having instant access to the thread... unless they meet requirements to post there...

this is not an attack on noob accounts... just a safety buffer for the rest of us... who . hate. scammers.

As someone who never asked to be staked/loaned and is now having a real hard time getting POints I dont know what to do , I know if i could get a loan for 2k POints Id prolly be good makin POints off that but I really dont feel comfortable asking, as I shouldnt. PPl on here are waaay too comfortable asking ppl they dont know for money or POints, and most of them have no intentions of paying back because they can just start a new acct and there is no real repercussions

I vote remove it from open chat, limit it in threads. After all, this is a freeroll site and from what I hear there are plenty of staking sites out there. Stake requests/begging seems to be a cancer here, on a site that wasn't created primarily for that purpose.

shitt..... a month MINIMUM.... i was actually thinking more like 6 months .......

as for posts.. maybe 100 at least? 50 would be something you guys should do just to play the freerolls....

but there needs to be more requirements.... like 10 or moer positive feedbacks, and uh... i duno more more moer!

Even big staking sites allow new users tog get stakes, this should be done on the discretion of the backer though. I like the verification process and things set up here so maybe the person HAS to be verified to post for a stake, but its up to the community if they want to help out a new member or not, everyone is entitled NOT to stake a new member.

I do agree that new members should do a few trades or give out a couple of stakes on their own before asking for one. Establish some type of history even its a small sample.

The problem is multi-accounters under new aliases that think they are sneaky. I also don't think giving stakes has anything to do with getting stakes here, they are separate ventures in a sense.

Currently the way we handle loans is through the site, so we can regulate it - we can't (and truthfully shouldn't) regulate stakes, but we have off-site trading for the staker/stakee to agree to terms.

We aren't a staking site.

my 2 cents on this issue are as follows. normally if a person is looking for a horse they will make a post. it should be ok to ask in the chatbox if someone wants to run also. some ppl are always looking at the computer screen so they may not see the thread(if not looking in marketplace) or see a person who just asked for horses. maybe set it to once or twice an hour. far as bumping a post goes let em bump as much as they want. whos it hurting? this goes for ppl looking to stake only. for ppl asking to be staked via thread, they can bump 1 time per hour. if they bump in 59 mins or less thread should be removed for not following protocol.

if you are gonna stake someone USE the offsite trading form. my dumbass has failed to do so on 2 occasions and its burned me. so USE the goddamn form. otherwise why did zab spend the money.

as far as tenure goes, im torn here. not everyone whom applies for a stake is a former member who scammed. and quite possibly may be a damn good player. and of course there will be ppl who apply anyways if we made tenure an issue. id like to see at least a member for 3 months, but its up to you guys really. idk thats all i got right now so use the ideas if u need them

No, it can't stay as it is - this place is becoming a mad house of the same 2-3 people clogging the chat begging for stuff.

Just posting this as a preemptive, theres a LOT of things we can do to fix it, and a lot of that can come with the staking upgrade. i think the ultimate goal for this should be to seperate the staking and off site market from the on site usage such as freerolls, tasks, and client, which will also allow to focus on the sites strengths while leaving the off site/staking/non point loans ia a more organized section of their own to be used by the members that want these features and totally be able to be ignored by the members who don't use/don't like them.

The quick chat things i mentioned was this:

@rivdee: basic avoiding begging standard is 30 minute min between chat requests, bump thread only up to 3 times a day, preferably only 2, am and pm, and since we have 2 channels, setting up ask/receive stakes and stuff could be dealt in there

I'll touch more on what I mean later after I organize my notes. Thats the general idea though

30 min between ask sounds fair but it gets annoying when the whole chat is filled with stake stake stake every 3 words shouldnt be able to copy and paste the visible chat into word and use the search future and find it more than 5 times lol

I would think it's fine in the chat, but with a limit. I think every 15 min (as suggested above) is too frequent. Maybe twice an hour. And once an hour bump in the forum.

Ok heres another thing you may want to think about if youre so lenient on chat requests/bumps. Lets say ten people looking at once (busy night). At 15 min intervals that's SIXTY chats an hour with it. Twice an hour thread bumps? 20 new posts an hour thatll make zab re-evaluate the free points a post that we get, and clog ch2 so we cant find new threads (not to mention archives would be useless with so much begging in it)

Lets reduce these numbers WAAAYY down, Me thinks

Here's my 2c.

1. Seniority should not affect any of it. Some players want to be active right out of the gate, others never post but participate in other stuff, there is no reason to restrict them. Everyone can easily see how long they have been a member and how active they have been, so people should be allowed to judge for themselves who they are willing to work with.

2. I think posting in Channel 1 should be limited to asking for a loan in shark and looking for poker funds, and should be limited to one post every 30 min. Channel 2 can remain the free for all it already is. The reason I think loans and looking for poker funds should be allowed, but nothing else should be is that those are requests most likely to find someone to help them out. Anyone trying to stake, sell, or a mp loan is better off with a thread because stakes and mp loans have fewer players willing to give those out, and anyone selling funds will usually take awhile to find someone to buy. Those are the type of requests that clog up chat.

3. Threads shouldn't be bumped unless they've fallen off the front page. Anyone looking through the threads will usually look at the whole front page, so bumping to be at the top of the list is just spamming.

I think stakes are good for the site, it is part of what players can do who come here to somehow build up their roll (mostly from zero I would guess). But fuck, stop the constant, unending requests in chat for it. People should make a thread, and then mention it in chat once every so often whatever people/Mods/Zab think is a fair increment of time. The current system has a couple just bashing everyone for stakes over and over again. Looks like a beg fest.

Anyway, I would be for a staking set-up here, and also some way to keep stats for the people who are playing stakes here. That way, if ABC who asks for stakes everyday, you look him up and see he has played $1000 worth of stakes on PO and has cashed $0, he gets found out. And I am for an insta-ban for anyone who runs off with stake.

It would certainly attract more people to the site if a regular flowing amount of money became available for staking activities.

Coat tailing on that, noobs should not have access to such a sub forum for staking. AT LEAST a month of worthwhile activity, not the random ass things people post in the forums to get 5 points or whatever the hell these random people i've never heard of/seen do. Basically prove they are a 'part of the community' because im sure i can find random names that have been here for over a month, with 50+ posts, that in reality are worthless posts.
