These are freerolls on this site, granted. But the main reason I sought out a forum with like minded players was to improve my game. I want to get better, so let's all play like were trying to get better instead of looking for the thrill of donking someone and screwing around. Lose the excuse of, "Oh it's a freeroll" and let's play for realz!

You wanna play for real? Then put in the volume needed to build a BR, and start playing real money games. Keep building your BR to get you to the point where the competition better suits you. I talk shit all the time about players in the FR's, but in the long run I enjoy winning more than my share of the money relative to the field size. So many people here play terribly, I will give you that; however, just as many players here think they play great that really play absurdly bad as well. If you can't build a BR from here in 3 months, then your either aren't playing enough games, or you just plain suck. Either way, glgl.Quote:

Sure you're gonna have a few crazy players that suck and make donk calls. but if you reach the FT at least half are
ft regulars that are good players that consistantly cash. you want those donk call in long run
When I started playing back in 2008, i played Pokerstars. I learned by playing in Poker School Online. I was very competitive and ranked very highly. I learned to play in the most filled tournaments available.
Heck I even won a tournament ticket to play in the $1 Million tournament by beating out 10,000 other players to qualify in 108th. Not once but twice. And then Black Friday come, and guess how much my ticket was worth?

So says that I want you to understand that it is the "Nature of the Beast" and you have to learn how to play in it or get out of it.
Good play is often at a final table. The reality is, the donkish play is kind of inevitable because not only is it a freeroll, but it's turbo.
Depending on the field the final two tables could be fun. Sadly tho way too many do consider these actually freerolls, even tho you are spending your time/money to get points, therefor NOT FREE. but you are going to have more then half the field playing like retards cause they think its really free LOL Play with caution early on
i find that in these games the beginning is where you need patience - after first hour it is skill

poofy you made a good point too, i ve been ranting on the bad play on the freerolls too, but if we dont like it, keep trygin to dodge the mind field , and build up a roll to play better play. you have cheange with the sceneary in poker.

I would agree with this, but really it's when it's down to the final 20ish. And often you get someone in that mix, and at the final table, who just got there because of moronic plays early on that allowed them to bust out someone who had a monster on the flop, played it correctly, but just got outdrawn in a runner-runner scenario.Quote:

you will always have players at all levels pretty much playing different ways, what you call a donk may just be their style. its very frustrating sometimes but some people will always play that way, also go LIONS
I was thinking the same thing. Although not the extent of the extreme micro and freeroll levels. Still, there will be tight, aggressive, good, bad, tilted, and all kinds of other players at each level. Also, stakes are relative to your own financial situation. One mans high stakes may be another man's low stakes. You may be playing the game of your life and the guy across the table may just be blowing off steam.

Even in real money games at the low/micro stakes its Donk-City most of the time. I had sort of gave up on online poker for a few days because I just got so tired of my AA getting beat out by some donk shoving all-in with junk hands under the gun. Seriously the last 7 times I had pocket aces I lost the hand by the river!
Oh well, I love the game so much I only dipped out for a few days before crawling back in LOL
One more thing most Free Rolls on any site, it seems like 50-65% or more of the players are inactive anyways. Playing at a 9 man table and only 2 or 3 people in the game WTF?
Donkeys are everywhere. It doesn't matter if its a freeroll or a real money game. I think you need to play more here so you know how to take a bad beat and how to deal with Donkeys.
The more donks the better.....more money for me :)
I like playing online...but I also like to pplay homegame/casino.
I havent played live poker in like 5 years....not kidding. Might start going to casino to play but I misss playing my weekly homegames where I used to live....

I think we all want to play poker for real, what is important is to know who to play and learn new techniques of game variables. is essential to stay focused here who want to learn to be better.
but often we want something we must understand that while we know the things we can learn to value, to better learn well.
always good to have a good teacher and I think the best in the sports realm is pokerstars.
