is there a good poker for the way the current generation is playing poker?
i have read the super system and couple of books by phil hellmuth. however they are old school and isn't suitable for the way the young guns play nowadays.
NEW AGE= NEVER FOLD any two, play any 2 likes its AA or KK lmfao
There is so much diverse stylez out there, that it's just not possible to write down what you should do in every given situation that will come up. It would be bigger than the bible.
When I play call of duty or halo, I don't read books about it to get better on how to win lol. Why would I do so with poker. Practice practice.
If you do read a book, I would only do it when you are playing winning poker already, and only read the book to see what people out there are trying to emulate, and find a way to exploit it.
there is no new age rules set in stone, the old school basics will still get you along way.
look at a king like it is an ace - surprised how many times the king will win
the mental game of poker. read it . then get part 2 . tis really good
Tendler's "The Mental Game of Poker" is pretty good. I don't have a copy now, but a friend loaned it to me and it was a good read
Ordered myself both of these books less than a week ago from amazon, can't wait to get them. Tilt, as with most, is perhaps my biggest issue with maintaining a br online and I have heard great things about these books and although I have improved without them lately they can only make things easier I'm sure.
The best way to learn is to play. I first read some phil hellmuth books and they did help, but now poker is different.
I know phil is an asshole and complete luckbox I don't know how he could be anyones idol or role model. I wouldn't read his book if it were free with a free bankroll deposit bonus. fkin noobs
I really would like some poker literature thats up to date
Is there one out that specifies in online poker?
poker really does continue to evolve and change all of the time
I also liked gus hansens every hand revealed. funny how raising is so profitable instead of flat calling the bb
Honestly, if you want current strategy you have to go current tactics of media. This means the internet, youtube, social media, etc. I like watching strategy videos and reading strategy articles myself. Especially on poker sites that have "quizzes" to reaffirm your learned knowledge.
always good to learn new strategies and for this we are guided by the books that make professional players ... you must always be aware
I think theres a book called poker for donkeys or poker for dummys
Just make sure that you do not alter every aspect of your game to be like someone else.
I agree with looking at some of the new platforms and social network if you want the very latest, but there is always some young guns who have had a couple of hot years early on and they think they have a great system. Look them up in a few more years and their theories aren't worth a hill of beans.
You can read any book but it's better to play a huge number of hands and watch your opponents (you don't have to risk too much, there are stakes from just $0.01/$0.02), don't watch videos of tournaments to learn, they show fancy moves that rarely are proffitable and it might make you to adopt bad habbits, you may watch them for fun only.
Start by playing a TAG style and as your reads become better you would be able to play more starting hands and get more loose making it harder for your opponent to predict what you have.
Always keep in mind that an aggressive style is a winning style, so for the most of the time... if you have it, bet it!
I agree there is no real right way to play just play your style and keep playing and learning the game..
the poker book is very good toplay because you know new strategy of system poker....
lower stuff will win most of the time
