my brothers freeroll stragagy

my oldest brother says "sit out for first ten minuets in freeroll ". it lets all those players who like to go all in with anything do there thing! he calls em bingo players. I am starting to believe this! personally not a fan of all in pre flop, but when a player is all in (Pre Flop)and I am holding a monster AA,AK,KK, ect. i guess its way to hard not to call but i fiend when i call i lose all though odds are in my favor.

It also seems like i should always fold AA but i know luck changes & lately AA is a donk hand

''The first 10 minutes?'' more like until the first break, me personally... I'll fold AA against more than 2 people pre flop early going because I know i'm not that big a fravorite against more than 4 of any cards.

I think there are 2 schools of thought on this and benefits to both.
I like getting in early and trying to mass more chips early on but it comes with risk.

I'd rather bingo it with a hand like 45 suited than hold AA in a multi pot, just my own opinion.

I would have to agree that most of the time i'm sitting out at least 10 minutes at the start of a freeroll. I play especially tight until the first break. After that I would begin a more standard tournament play line.

As someone suggested there are opportunities to amass chips if you get good hands.

Personally I'd rather sit in and see more hands. You can always fold, and if you do get the AA you'll want to call. If you get donked out so be it. In the long run it's in your benefit.

I win more deep stacks joining 1 hour in then I do from the beginning, but it dont always work that way. Hands you can grab early on can help build your stack while the blinds are lower. You cant do that sitting out.

in a freeroll i'm never folding AA pre, lol. tight is right in freerolls though and also don't try and bluff, just value bet. fish will always call with shit.

are you that desperate to win the freeroll that you will much aces because if your going for first place mucking aces is a terrible strategy

5 times chip average in freroll is easy play, Not worth playing tight for 2 hours then getting one bad beat before the money and losing

lol fold best hand ever preflop?think this way u have AA and some donks go allin (poker is odds and luck)u can double or more.
if dont get lucky and lose(i know sux lose even more for donk hands) it is a freeroll.but thx for the tip

only time i would fold aa preflop would b in a big satelite tourney where im not trying to win just trying to get a seat. If i loose with AA all in pre flop, then hey not my day. Take those cards all day long

on some fr i sitout for a few (PO) others with alot of players 500+ i like donk up and get a big stack early or get out.

I think its the other way around, you should want those players in your tables, you can get all their chips

It's really a toss up. I have done both. Sit out and let the all iners go all in or play and hope to beat one of them with a monster hand.

Well, he tends to have a decent strategy, of course, since it's a freeroll, the play isn't always that great.

I like to break there tournament into segments. The early stages, middle stages, and late stages.

In the early stages, you are looking for high implied odds hands. I'm looking to playing A3s versus some AQ, because I'm interested in getting two pair against the player who doesn't know how to fold. You need to know who the fish are first tho. Like anyone playing too many hands, taking ridiculous lines with bluffs, playing passively, raising to more than 5x the bb, etc. If someone does something strange, odds are they will be doing more strange things. It's very easy to get frustrated or bored and try to play something you shouldn't, but early on, you should just fold your trouble hands. So early on is all about staying patient. If you don't get a chip up spot, you still have all tournament thereafter. Plus, if you're watching your opponents, you can play against their weaknesses (like if they are overvaluing top pair, etc.) And just look past a single street. And try to get max value while maintaining your stack.

In no way, shape, or form is folding aces the right thing to do preflop...if youre going to play like that you should take up Old Maid or Go Fish or something

I find if you play straight up in the long run you do better. But it's difficult to take playing for 3 hours just for a quarter. Sometimes better to "donk it up" early like you say. Hit early it's easier to go far, otherwise go out early and don't waste your time.

True, but if you call and your up against any Ax hands and a lower pair, your still more than 60% favorite to triple up, which is huge early in freerolls, with typically quick blinds

I like to get in not just freerolls but most MTTs towards the end of late registration. That gives you a chance to get into the real poker playing, maybe a little short stacked, but past the "all in roulette."

Doing that will increase your chances of having to commit to one hand.

mu freeroll strategy is to play as many as possible and kick all ur asses.

i wouldnt say dont play anything early on just dont get too commited preflop

I think it depends on the table play .....but folding AA is almost nuts ......folding AK....is some what nuts pre flop....like I said depends on actions of table

my real strategy is the same for every poker game very simple "Wing It"

yall are all donks if your willing to fold AA preflop facing a couple of all ins....in that case just quit poker while you can then.

Take it slow till all the morons are done going all in unless u get good hands

If you want to sit out at the start go for it, maybe i can steal your blinds :)
