Is it just my luck lately?..

I have had bad runs of cards in the past before, but not quite like the last several days on Merge. Just referring to hands with my AK vs Ax, or Kx, it sure seems the x is pairing up an awful lot. For instance, today, I get AK in the sb, blinds 75/150. Utg+1 player (loose/aggr) makes it 400, next player calls, it fold to me, I push all in for a bit over 1400 total, the original raiser mucks, the smooth caller, calls and turns up K,10 off. 10 immediately flops. Happening a lot lately, similarly with AK against say, A6 off, the 6 flops, and its over. I call it the "Murphy's Law of Poker", i.e. if it can happen, it probably will. Ok, well I vented enough. Eventually I'll get out of this mini slump.

Understand what you meen, cards just aren't falling my way either

Unfortunately, that's poker. Ya gotta just keep playing your game and the variances will equal out.

I'm currently going through a slump like that. Ace rags are busting my Ace Kings and Ace Queens.

Glad I stumbled on this post. I know you saw it today but my AK and AQ never hold vs QK. I cant tell you how many times I shove AQ or AK into a weak player's limp who then snap calls with QK and gets there. It makes me sick.

thats poker u never know what you are going up against.

Poker is skill but luck sometimes it defines why the game is so exciting!

i think the problem with the software is that it deals pre-determined hands, not a randomly shuffled deck, so when your AQ is up against A7 the program wants the AQ to raise and the A7 to fold, but donks cant ever fold A7 because they win with it online, and the A7 hits like 50% of the time not the 20% or whatever % it is supposed to be with a randomly shuffled deck. I wish someone would use software that generates random hands not hand #23456678996432 that is already decided.

Actually according to Zab on Merge's RNG, its a revolving deck, and each card is determined individually at the split second its dealt. But it still sucks..lol

Welcome to the real world. We see the best of the best bite the big one also. Ride it out.

same with me bro... I've been losing to players I've never seen before. All these new players being so damn lucky right from the get go!!!
makes me kinda paranoid to play with them.

Today seems my day of bad luck, Against My QQ sm donk called As8d and floped the A and then 8s too, and then next tournament I had KK and sm guy called the raise from UTG who limped bfor with 44 and then got Quads and i lost my whole stack because board was so low and that guy so much loose aggressive i bet all the streets, and All in on the river. Yes i agree with you bad runs that last for a week or longer sucks. I can deal with a day or two.

How about months or years online? Its really sad when you can still win live( as i did last night) but have no chance online. Go figure!!

stick with it, things will get better :) .

If the 'smooth caller' was reacting to an ace-type hand in the 400 raiser, then you were obviosuly not gonna hit your ace.

Sometimes your lucky, sometimes your not. Thats poker, dont be result orientated

so i had 1k points. went to do the 1k sng. i was doing well until i woke back up and finnished my llast hand for 3rd place. what a bummer

I always wondered about this. Like we will never know for sure if the board that you rabbit is the same one that would have come up if the hand had played out. In theory it should be, but I have a suspicion it isn't. Sadly, we could never know though without knowing the specifics of the RNG which we never will.

I think we all go through this one time or another

yes we all go thru this once in a while poker is a game of patience

That happens a lot friend slumps happen to us all to the pro

the worst beat is losing with AA while slow playing, u assume that ur gonna win the hand no problem untill runner runner comes out for the donkey ur playing with
