lol well the only way to go back up is to play! play sit n go
My strategy when dealing with a baby bankroll is either use 100$ of BR to play a tourney or 30% to 60% if conservative. It's either get to a semi stable to stacked BR as soon as possible. Kinda reckless but it seems to work for me. :)
You become a freeroll whore like me and don't play in any cash games until you have the proper bankroll for me. I don't buy into anything that is more than 5% of my br (mtts with re-entry I count as 3x what the actual buy-in is, rebuys are 5x). Therefore I needed at least $20 before I even played a $1 sng. $60 before I play in a $1 mtt on carbon since they're all re-entry, and $80 before I touch a cash game.
Keep playing ONLY freerolls until you make it to 100$, then play MTT's between 1.10$ and 3.30$ until you are up to 500$, then, move up to 5.50$ and 7.70$.
first off you should only bet 1/10 of your bankroll at any given time if applicable (obviously if you only have $1 then your stuck) and even less as it grows. bcp is good because they have .01/.02 rings and you can really have some room for outdraws or bad play
sngs are good too, if you can cash in 1 out of 3 then you will at least come close to breaking even by just cashing - not to mention those that you win outright will boost you up a lot - and with a 33% payout rate they are really good for the better than average player
there are lots of books and sites that discuss bankroll management - but you still have to be a solid player or you will always go broke eventually - becoming a better poker player is learning bankroll management, ;earning how to play well, and how bankroll management can affect the way you play - all skills intertwine and can have massive effects on each other
I'm comfortable with 5% because it always stays 5%. If I have $100 and then lose a $5 buy in, then I can't play in another $5 buy in because I don't have the br for it. So 5% doesn't mean I have 20 entries at 1 level, it's more a guide to tell me what level I can play at.
one thing you will learn is that scared money attracts more sharks than the Brody family - learn what that means
also you dont really have to wait until your roll is bigger from freerolls to play cash - if you are a good player you will be ok
since you had $9 you could have played .01/.02 game with 18 buy ins - which is plenty for a beginner
or you could have played 5 $1.65 sngs on BCP - if you cash in 2nd and 3rd in two of them your only down like 2.25 and played 5 tournaments - and if you were to win one outright out of those five then your in the black
I think the best way to proceed is probably both sng and MTT if you have a really low bankroll. I think the double or nothing sng have less variance if you know how to play them. Cash game depends on the limit on the site. For carbon for example it is NL4 which can indeed go really fast even if you are a decent player.
yea and by the standard of 1/100 on spending in cash you have to play freerolls for 3 months (or more) before you can play a $1.65 game - too long for me to wait- i started PO like 2 1/2 weeks ago - played freerolls on BCP and won about 9 bucks - turned that into $50 already - if I can do it then anyone can (though by definition i am not a new player - played online since 2004 and took a big break - this person seems like a new online player - maybe even really new to poker altogether
if you have a total of 9 dollars why would your risk it all in one game? you should have split that 9 dollars up on 9 seperate tables playing 1 cent 2 cent stakes all with 1 dollar each .
another thing you need to remember is that freerolls will always be there so if you lose your $5 bankroll then go get another tomorrow
#1 play your bankroll!! Dont bring all your cash to one table ! Play some !$ sit n go's or tourneys first then build it up a lil bit before you go to cash games maybe . Kind of a pro tip i read some where a while ago .. Never play more than 10% of your bank and if your good . You should never go bust as long as you managing your bank correctly ....
Good luck,

dont play cash games play sit n go dbl or nothings and play tight half the field dbls up
Just start off in the 1 cent 2 cent cash or play more freerolls until you win a little more it's tough to not get sucked out in small cash game as everyone calls with anything.
1.Play 25 gtd tourneys there 55 cents to buy in you win the whole thing usually about 13 to 16 dollars depending on how many rebuys people put in .2. This is the shoot for moon option :carbon has a sattelite for like a 1.15 top 50 get entry into a saturday qualifier that's usually like a 11 dollars, then if you place in that sattelite you get a coupon for entry into the sunday big ticket which top prize is like 20,000.
its hard to build bankroll from 1$ only.. i never managed to do this, just play lowest s&g u can
Just pray to bank dont get loose and maybe works, becuse I am always lost my bank
play as much s&g u can and at the lowest price im sure it will work, gl :)
yea play the smallest mtts u can find!!!!!!!!!!!
i wish i knew what site this person won the 9$ on to give them an idea of what games to play - its not too hard to build from low level - you just have to know how to play and not be scared
never put in sports bets on the poker/sports sites it will usually lead to a urge to generate fast cash, while your money was made slowly grinding. you will eventually lose the patients and just kill off all disciplines you had grinding the low stack and it will go faster then it will come in.
okay you have a 9$ BR (bank roll) and you're saying you went busto to an 8$ loss, you are still plus over all since you had deposited 0 funds. well in the first place it would seem that with that BR you went to a NO limit game, if your purpose was to try and build up you certainly didn't do go about it with a proper strategy. With such a micro micro BR you would be more likely to make a small profit going about Limit, i know its not very popular to most but it does have a key benefit, in which you can't risk said 8$ or 98% of your BR on one hand. For anyone who's been playing long knows you want to see a large number of hands to pick good spots and with a tiny starting BR like 9$ your best bet is the .02 .05 cent limit tables with patients and value play you're going to come out ahead and have a long playing time. good luck
yes, its a little complicated play poker whit a tiny bankroll
Yeah no matter what at the .01 .02 game you should have only sat with 2 bucks or so just to limit your loss. Never limit your wins but ALWAYS limit your loss. Way too many here go for the golden ring so to speak and that is NEVER +ev in the long run.. until you have the roll for it stay away from cash games, play sng's or mtts with your micro roll. Poker is not about making the big score quick(even tho thats what we all want), its about the slow grind.
yea $1 is going to be impossible to get built up your going to need to make money in a freeroll again to be able to build it.
My vote is for a $1 double-or-nothing SNG. with a $1 bankroll - at least on Carbon you aren't going to be able to manage it. You have one game and that's your best chance to grow your BR. If you win, I would stick to them until I had at least $10, then stick to just $1 single table SNGs - once you have $20 you have some more options.
me parece que lo que puedes hacer es tener una gestion de banka clara, respetar tus reglas y no sobrepasarlas, nunca jugar fuera de tus limites y no jugar con estado tilit
